NASCAR helped to celebrate Easter with the annual Cup Series dirt race that saw plenty of action with bumping, banging, and the spinning of cars.

Three time Chili Bowl winner and dirt racer Christopher Bell became the seventh different driver to win a Cup Series race in the first eight races of the season when he dominated stage three of the Food City Dirt Race.

With his win, Bell takes over the points standings with 281 points.  Bell also takes over the lead of the Playoff Standings with 2,020 points.

Over the weekend, Rick Ware Racing announced that their driver Cody Ware was stepping away from the car this weekend to deal with a “personal matter”.  On Monday NASCAR announced that Ware had been suspended.

Rick Hendrick has announced that Hendrick Motorsports will not be appealing their latest penalties assessed on their number 24 and 48 cars after the race in Richmond for violation of the greenhouse area of the car in regards to the windshield wiper installed for wet weather racing.
