The Craftsman Truck Series runs a stand alone event at Texas Motor Speedway for some Saturday afternoon racing with the SpeedyCash.com 250.

Rookie driver Nick Sanchez put his number two truck on the pole with Kyle Busch Motorsports driver Jack Wood starting alongside on the front row.

With a stand alone event, the teams are not able to take advantage of Xfinity or Cup Series personnel; as a result, the pit stops will be a little different with crews allowed to change tires only during stage breaks and the competition caution.  Drivers cannot advance on pit road – the field will be frozen once the caution flag flies.  Stage break pit stops are a minimum of three minutes; giving the crews plenty of time to get the service done by crews normally not on pit road.

A doubleheader weekend with IndyCar, the drivers will have different spotters as well, mostly IndyCar spotters.  Matt Crafton is the only driver to have his normal spotter.

Only two of the drivers in today’s race have won a Truck Series race at Texas before – Matt Crafton and Stewart Friesen.  Eleven of the drivers in the field were not even born the last time Matt Crafton drove a race at Texas.
