In the final race of the West coast swing, the Xfinity Series travels to the one mile track of Phoenix Raceway for the United Rentals 200.
Thirty-nine teams brought cars to Phoenix to fill 38 starting spots including Cup Series champion Kyle Busch in the number 10 Kaulig Racing car for his second of five Xfinity Series starts.
After a 20 minute practice session, the drivers take to the track for single car one lap qualifying.
The first driver on the track to make a qualifying run is Dawson Cram who posts a time of 28.587 seconds around the one mile track.
With a time of 27.869, Sheldon Creed is the first driver to break the 28 second mark in making a qualifying run.
Starting the season on crutches with a knee injury, Daniel Hemric ditched the crutches this week and put his number eleven car up front with a time of 27.845 seconds around the one mile track with 10 cars remaining to qualify.
Parker Kligerman hit the wall making his qualifying run after the tires locked up. The crew has about three hours till race time to either repair the car or move to a backup car. Less than half an hour before race start, the crew was still working on the backup car trying to get it ready for the race.
Kyle Busch has chosen not to make a qualifying run after having some trouble with the car during practice. He will start the race from the back of the field. While the other drivers must start the race on the tires they used to make a qualifying run, Busch will start the race on sticker tires after the crew had to make some changes in the fueling system
After leading practice and posting a qualifying time of 27.701 seconds, Cole Custer will sit on the pole and bring the field to green. JR Motorsports driver Justin Allagier will start alongside Custer on the front row.

Stages one and two of the race are 45 laps each with stage three lasting 110 laps for a total of 200 laps around the one mile track. The drivers can do 80 to 85 laps on a single load of fuel.
Jeffrey Earnhardt will also start the race from the back of the field after the crew made some unapproved adjustments; along with Kyle Busch and Parker Kligerman.
Kevin Harvick and Joey Logano join Adam Alexander in the FOX broadcast booth for today’s race.
Cole Custer brings the field down for the green flag start for some racing in the desert and the drivers immediately get three and four wide.

Lap five Cole Custer has a lead of over half a second on Sheldon Creed; Daniel Hemric, Justin Allgaier, and John Hunter Nemechek round out the top five. Kyle Busch ahs moved up 13 spots since race start.
Lap seven, Cole Custer has pulled out to a lead of nearly two seconds on Sheldon Creed; Justin Allgaier, Johb Hunter Nemechek, and Daniel Hemric round out the top five. Kyle Busch is just outside the top 20 in 21st.
Lap 10, Cole Custer continues to increase his lead and is now over two seconds in front of Sheldon Creed; Justin Allgaier, John Hunter Nemechek, and Daniel Hemric round out the top five.
Lap 13 Sheldon Creed and Justin Allgaier battle back and forth for second place over two seconds behind leader Cole Custer.
Lap 20, Cole Custer continues to dominate the race with a lead of over two seconds on Justin Allgaier; Sheldon Creed, John Hunter Nemechek, and Sammy Smith round out the top five. Kyle Busch is now in the top 15 in 14th place.
Daniel Hemric is reporting a loose condition in his car.
Lap 22, Cole Custer has led every lap so far and is 2.47 seconds in front of Justin Allgaier; Sheldon Creed, Sammy Smith, and John Hunter Nemechek round out the top five. Dawson Cram is off the track.
Lap 26, the top five are Cole Custer, Justin Allgaier, Sheldon Creed, John Hunter Nemechek, and Sammy Smith. Kyle Busch has moved up 23 spots to 14th but hasn’t been able to move any further.
Phoenix native, 18 year old Leland Honeyman brings out the caution flag after his rear panel fell off.
None of the drivers came down pit road for tires or adjustments.
Cole Custer brings the field down for the green flag restart from the inside lane with just 10 laps remaining in stage one with Justin Allgaier on the outside. Drivers spread out across the track with Custer holding on to the lead. Justin Allgaier and Sammy Smith battle for second. Kyle Busch has entered the top 10.
This time, Justin Allgaier stays on leader Cole Custer’s bumper and comes up on the outside to battle for the lead.
Lap 39, Justin Allgaier takes the lead.
Josh Berry spins out and brings out the second caution flag of the race. Chandler Smith ran into the back of Berry and sent him spinning.
Several drivers come down pit road to short pit the end of the stage.
After staying out on the track, Justin Allgaier brings the field down for the two lap shootout to end the stage from the outside lane with Cole Custer on the inside. Justin Allgaier jumps out in front for the lead as the drivers get four wide across the track with Kyle Busch in the middle of them.

When pit road opens, the field comes down pit road for service to short pit the end of stage two. Justin Allgaier stayed out on the track and will lead the field for the shootout to end stage two.

This is the eighth time in Justin Allgaier’s career that he has swept the stages but in five of those races, he failed to win the race.

The race began under cloudy skies, but the sun has since come out and has changed the conditions on the track.
Lap 123, Sammy Smith continues to increase his lead and is now three seconds out in front. Austin Hill passes Kyle Busch for second but Busch has some debris on his grille. Busch got up to Austin Hill’s bumper and the debris is off…and the battle to retake second begins.
Lap 127, Sammy Smith has a lead of nearly three and a half seconds on Austin Hill with Kyle Busch in third; John Hunter Nemechek and Sam Mayer round out the top five.
Lap 132, Sammy Smith continues to have a three plus second lead on Austin Hill with Kyle Busch in third; John Hunter Nemechek and Sam Mayer rounding out the top five. Busch slaps the wall but the track stays green.
After being one of only a few drivers to make a pit stop at the end of stage two, Justin Allgaier has moved through the field and is in 13th place.
The eighth caution flag of the race comes out on lap 138 when Gray Gaulding is stopped against the wall. The drivers are in their pit window to make it to the end of the race on fuel with 30 drivers on the lead lap. Gaulding is out of his car and walks unaided to the safety truck for the mandatory ride to the infield care center after a hard hit.
Sammy Smith leads a large pack of drivers down pit road for service. This is the last set of fresh tires for the drivers who stop. Austin Hill wins the race off of pit road with Kyle Busch coming out second. Sammy Smith came out in third place.
Austin Hill brings the field down for the green flag restart on the inside lane with Kyle Busch on the outside with 53 laps remaining in the race. The drivers spread out four and five wide across the track with Austin Hill in the lead but Kyle Busch comes up on the outside with Sammy Smith in the middle to make it a three wide battle for the lead.
Sheldon Creed brings out the ninth caution flag with 51 laps to go after he spins out with a flat tire. He manages to avoid hitting any other driver during the spin.
