Noting that people had told him to write letters to his unborn daughter, St. Paul said, “Little did I know that it would be during a global pandemic. Death was constantly entering my mind especially in those early pandemic days. Would I be alive to see her or What kind of world was she coming into? Not to mention the normal anxiety every new parent has with their first born. This is a record I would have written whether I did this for a living or not. I don’t know if those records come along all the time.”
St. Paul & The Broken Bones will be releasing their fifth album “Angels in Science Fiction” on April 21. The album is currently available for pre-order on clear vinyl.
Children have long inspired their parents to write songs and record albums; but St. Paul – Paul Janeway – took his feelings about becoming a father and put them in messages to his unborn child. Those messages became the songs for “Angels in Science Fiction”.
