Southern rockers The Marshall Tucker Band are getting ready to hit the road for the Infinite Road Tour with the first group of dates being released.

Lead singer Doug Gray spoke on the upcoming tour saying, “we are looking forward to another big year for The Marshall Tucker Band.  It’s overwhelming to see so many fans coming out to our shows over 50 years after we started. Old friends bring their children and grandchildren, enabling growth for a new crop of fans. There is no end in sight. Infinity!”

Forming 50 years ago in Spartanburg, South Carolina; like so many others the band had no name…or an idea of one…until they found a key ring with the name Marshall Tucker in the warehouse where they were rehearsing.  It turned out that Marshall Tucker was the name of a piano tuner who was blind…and as they say, the rest is history.

The old piano tuner died earlier this year at the age of 99; Gray noted, “Marshall Tucker’s name will continue in our thoughts as we embark on our Infinite Road Tour.”  He added. “he never asked for fame but sometimes life unfolds in mysterious ways. Without his name, who knows where we would be today. We salute you into your infinite journey, Mr. Tucker!”

More dates will be added as the tour progresses.
