True race fans know that racers are ready to hop into anything with four wheels and a steering wheel and take a turn around the track.

While retired from full time racing, Dale Earnhardt Jr has plans to run a Late Model and Xfinity Series race in the coming season.

Chase Elliott has plans to make a run in the Craftsman Truck Series at Daytona International Speedway.  The five time Most Popular Driver will race for McAnally Hilgermann Racing in the number 35 truck with his Cup Series sponsor NAPA Auto Care coming along as sponsor; along with Gates Hydraulics.  This will be Elliott’s 18th career Truck Series start.  He was just 17 when he earned his first win in the Truck Series; at the time he was the youngest driver to win a race in the Truck Series.

Elliott remarked on his upcoming start at the World Center of Racing saying, “this will be the first time I’ve driven a truck at Daytona, let alone a superspeedway.  There’s no better team owner than Bill McAnally to do it with as he’s been involved in racing and been associated with NAPA for a long time.”

Jake Garcia will take over the driving duties of the number 35 truck on March 3 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  The date also marks Garcia’s 18th birthday – the age at which NASCAR allows a driver on a track over a mile in length.

Team Bill McAnally spoke on his team saying, “I think there’s an incredible amount of potential for our team to make a lot of noise this year, and we have the people to make it happen.  We’re thrilled to have Chase step in and drive our No. 35 Gates Hydraulics Chevrolet at Daytona, and everyone involved in our program is excited and glad that he’s able to do so. I think his presence at Daytona will benefit Jake and our entire group.”

While Ty Dillon will be driving the number 77 car for Spire Motorsports full time in the Cup Series in 2023, he has also signed on to drive the iconic number three car in the Xfinity Series part time with Ferris Mowers sponsoring the car.  The first race will be the popular and historic throwback weekend at Darlington Raceway on May 13.

While Kevin Harvick will be leaving the Stewart-Hass Racing stable at the end of the 2023 season; SHR has ensured that at least one of their three remaining drivers – Chase Briscoe, Aric Almirola – who returns after originally announcing retirement at the end of the 2022 season, and Ryan Preece will be around for a few more years.

On January 26, SHR announced a multi year contract extension for the driver of the number 14 car Chase Briscoe.  The 2021 Rookie of the Year was one of 19 different race winners in the 2022 season; winning the spring race at Phoenix Raceway.  Broscoe finished the season in ninth place after being eliminated from the playoffs after the second round.

Team co-owner and Hall of Fame driver Tony Stewart spoke on Brisoce saying, “Chase has made the most of every opportunity and the proof is in the results. Keeping him at SHR was a priority and we’re proud to have him in our race cars for many more years to come.”

Briscoe noted that it was SHR who initiated the contract talks; however, admitted that it was a mutual decision on getting the contract completed.

For many years tobacco and adult beverages were the staple of car sponsorships in NASCAR until federal government rules prohibited the advertising of such items on television.  Since that time beer and the occasional hard liquor sponsor is all that has appeared on the cars…until now.

Cabo Wabo  – “an unquestionably Mexican tequila made with an undeniable American attitude” – becomes the first brand of tequila to partner with NASCAR.  The muli-year partnership makes Cabo Wabo the “Official Tequila” of NASCAR and will appear at Daytona International Speedway, Kansas Speedway, Michigan International Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway where they will sponsor fan experiences, concerts, contests, and other events.

NASCAR Senior Vice President and Chief Sales Officer Jeff Wohlschlaeger spoke on the new partnership saying, “Cabo Wabo’s reputation for doing things bigger, bolder and better perfectly aligns with the spirit of our sport.  We welcome Cabo Wabo Tequila to the NASCAR family as we begin the celebration of our 75th Anniversary season.”

Campari America’s Vice President of Marketing Andrea Sengara spoke on Cabo Wabo and NASCAR fans saying, “NASCAR fans are known for the same brand loyalty as our beloved Cabo Wabo Tequila fans. Like our tequila, NASCAR fans live unapologetically and expect nothing but greatness from their race day, and their race day drinks. With this partnership, we’re delivering on both and giving fans a new way to bring the bold to their favorite sport.”
