A new Cup Series team isn’t the only new thing in the works for Tyler Reddick when the NASCAR season begins next month.
After announcing in the middle of the season last year that he was moving to 23XI Racing beginning with the 2024 season; Tyler Reddick was originally scheduled to stay with Richard Childress Racing for the 2023 season but after Kurt Busch announced his retirement from full time racing after a concussion, Reddick was selected to move to 23XI and drive the number 45 car beginning with the upcoming season.
On January 23, Reddick announced that he would be joining Sam Hunt Racing to run a part time schedule in the Xfinity Series. Reddick will be driving the number 24 car with his first race coming at Auto Club Speedway.
With his move from RCR to 23XI, Reddick moves from driving a Chevrolet to a Toyota. The extra time in the Xfinity Series will allow Reddick to become familiar more quickly; however, the Xfinity Series does not run the same car as the Cup Series.
Reddick spoke on his driving for SHR via a statement saying, “I’m looking forward to the opportunity to run some races in the Xfinity Series with Sam Hunt Racing. This is a big year for their team as they move to full-time racing with two cars, and I’m excited to be a part of helping them grow. This is also another great chance to get in a few more races with Team Toyota. As I’ve been preparing for my first season with 23XI Racing in the Cup Series, I’ve been really impressed at the resources provided by Toyota, so I know we’ll show up to the track with a chance to win.” Reddick is a two time Xfinity Series champion.
