It’s the final race before a champion is crowned in the desert with the Dead On Tools 250 at Martinsville Speedway for the Xfinity Series.  By the end of the race the final four that will race for the championship will be revealed.  Teammates Noah Gragson and Josh Berry have already secured spots in the final four after winning races in this round.  AJ Allmendinger and Ty Gibbs are currently above the cut line but Justin Allgaier, Austin Hill, Sam Mayer, and Brandon Jones are below the cut line and looking for a win to make it into the final four.

Forty teams brought cars to Martinsville for 38 starting spots.

The field has been split in two and each group will have 15 minutes to practice before making a qualifying run in single car qualifying and two laps to chart their best time.

With Halloween on Monday, several of the drivers this weekend are sporting Halloween themed cars.

After the two groups had their practice sessions, Ronnie Bassett Jr was the first driver on the track to make a qualifying run and posted a time of 20.942 seconds around the half mile track.

A brake line broke on Noah Gragson’s car and the crew is working to install a new brake line. 

Sheldon Creed is the first driver to break the 20 second mark with a time of 19.863 seconds.

Austin Hill did not make a qualifying run after a radiator issue and lost a great deal of water.

Currently 38 points below the cut line, Brandon Jones put his number 19 car on the pole with a time of 19,832 seconds.  Sheldon Creed will start alongside on the front row.

Dawson Cram and Ronnie Bassett Jr failed to qualify for the race.

This season, Big Machine Racing has put a number of different drivers in the number 48 Xfinity Series car.  But next season, NBC broadcaster and part time driver Parker Kligerman will be driving the number 48 full time.  Kligerman will continue to be a pit road reporter for Cup Series races.

Stages one and two are 60 each with stage three lasting 130 laps.  The drivers can run 120 to 130 laps on a single load of fuel.

Austin Hill will have to start the race from the back of the field after a radiator issue.

As the cars were making pace laps, a piece of debris fell from one of the cars.

Brandon Jones brings the field down for the green flag start of the race from the inside lane and gets out in front for the lead with Sheldon Creed in second.

Lap 10, Brandon Jones has pulled out to a lead of over half a second on Sheldon Creed; Sammy Smith, Ty Gibbs, and Noah Gragson round out the top five.  Playoff drivers Justin Allgaier and AJ Allmendinger battle for sixth.

Lap 13, Brandon Jones continues to lead the race; last place driver Chad Finchum is over 17 seconds behind the lead.  With the track only half a mile around, it will not take long for the leader to begin lapping cars.

Lap 19, Brandon Jones now has a lead of over a second on Ty Gibbs; Sheldon Creed, Sammy Smith, and Noah Gragson round out the top five.  AJ Allmendinger and Justin Allgaier continue their battle for sixth.

Lap 25, Ty Gibbs has closed the gap on leader Brandon Jones and is now just half a second back; Sheldon Creed, Sammy Smith, and Noah Gragson round out the top five.

Lap 28, Ty Gibbs battles with Brandon Jones as the leaders begin lapping cars.  There are 30 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 32, as it stands now,  Brandon Jones and Ty Gibbs are the two drivers above the cut line; along with race winners Noah Gragson and Josh Berry.

The caution flag comes out on lap 35 after Joe Graf Jr gets into the wall.  Patrick Emerling also has damage to his car.

Since race start Austin Hill has moved up to 22nd place; just five cars in front of the leader.

Lap 47, AJ Allmendinger makes contact with Josh Berry but the track stays green.

There are 27 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 48, Austin Hill is up to 14th.

Lap 50, Brandon Jones has just a quarter second lead on Ty Gibbs; Sammy Smith, Justin Allgaier, and Sheldon Creed round out the top five.

Justin Allgaier passes Sammy Smith for third on the outside lane.

Lap 52, Brandon Jones continues to lead the race but is just a quarter of a second in front of Ty Gibbs; Justin Allgaier, Sammy Smith, and Josh Berry round out the top five.

Drivers are getting three wide across the track in a battle for position.

Bayley Currey limps his smoking car to pit road and the garage after getting into the wall; the track stays green.

With two laps remaining in stage one, Austin Hill is just outside the top 10 in eleventh.

ON the final lap of stage one, Ty Gibbs battle with Brandon Jones for the lead but Jones holds him off and wins stage one after leading every lap in the stage.

Drivers come down pit road for service with Brandon Jones winning the race off of pit road but Noah Gragson and Rajah Caruth stayed out on the track after coming down pit road during the caution.

Kyle Weatherman and Alex Labbe were charged with safety violations on pit road.

Lap 74, Noah Gragson has a half second lead on Brandon Jones.

Lap 75, teammates Justin Allgaier and Josh Berry battle for fifth.

Lap 76, Noah Gragson has aa half second lead on Brandon Jones; Ty Gibbs, Josh Berry, and Sammy Smiith round out the top five.

Lap 79, Brandon Jones ahs closed the gap on lead Noah Gragson to just a third of a second with Ty Gibbs on Jones’ bumper.

Lap 82, there are 27 cars on the lead lap.

Brandon Jones and Ty Gibbs battle for second with Gibbs taking the spot; Noah Gragson leads the race with a half second lead.

Lap 84 Noah Gragson has a third of a second lead on Ty Gibbs; Brandon Jones, Josh Berry, and Justin Allgaier round out the top five.

IN fifth place, Justin Allgaier have moved himself above the cut line.

Lap 88, Ty Gibbs battles with Noah Gragson for the lead; Gibbs takes the lead.

Lap 93, the top six drivers are all Joe Gibbs Racing and JR Motorsports drivers with Ty Gibbs leading the race; Noah Gragson, Brandon Jones, Josh Berry, and Justin Allgaier rounding out the top five.

Lap 96, Josh Berry passes teammate Noah Gragson for third.

Lap 99, Ty Gibbs has pulled out to a lead of over half as second and has begun lapping slower traffic.

Lap 100, Ty Gibbs leads the race with Brandon Jones in second; Josh Berry, Justin Allgaier, and Noah Gragson round out the top five with 26 cars on the lead lap.

Despite being in second place, Brandon Jones is still 27 points below the cut line.

Now 12 points below the cut line, AJ Allmendinger is very dejected.

Landon Cassill brings out the caution flag on lap 106 when he gets into the wall with a wheel hop.  Teammate Daniel Hemric had a similar issue during practice and qualifying on Friday.

Several drivers come down pit road for service but leader Ty Gibbs stays out on the track.

With 97 laps to go, Sam Mayer, AJ Allmendinger, and Noah Gragson continue their battles for position.

Lap 156, Josh Berry has a lead of over a second on Brandon Jones; Austin Hill, Ty Gibbs, and and Riley Herbst round out the top five.

Sam Mayer is reporting a tight condition.

Matt Mills is off the track; Ryan Vargas returns to the track 20 laps down.

AJ Allmendinger is just one point ahead of Justin Allgaier and holds the last spot in the final four.

JJ Yeley brings out the caution flag on lap 162 when he gets into the wall.

NASCAR gave the teams an extra set of tires for a total of four sets for this race; some crews are taking advantage of that and coming down pit road for fresh ties.  Brandon Jones wins the race off of pit road.

Sheldon Creed was caught speeding on pit road.

A short track, there is a lot of beating and banging on the trac as drivers battle for position.

With 75 laps remaining in the race, Brandon Jones and Ty Gibbs battle for the lead with Gibbs retaking the lead.

Seventy to go, Ty Gibbs has a half second lead on Brandon Jones; Josh Berry, Riley Herbst, and Noah Gragson round out the top five.  Chad Finchum is off the track.

Just 65 laps remain in the race with Ty Gibbs leading the way; Brandon Jones, Josh Berry, Noah Gragson, and Riley Herbst round out the top five.

With 57 laps to go in the race, Ty Gibbs has pulled out to a lead of two seconds on Brandon Jones.

The sixth caution flag of the race comes out after Kris Wright and Howie Disavino get turned around after some on track contact.

Some drivers come down pit road for adjustments and service including AJ Allmendinger and Austin HIll.

Ty Gibbs brings the field down for the green flag restart with just 48 laps remaining in the race.  Gibbs jumps out in front for the lead with Brandon Jones and Noah Gragson battling for second; Josh Berry and Justin Allgaier round out the top five.

Ryan Sieg spins out and gets into the wall in a three wide battle; bringing out the caution flag.  There is some significant damage to Sieg’s car.

Ty Gibbs brings the field down for green flag restart with 40 laps remaining in the race and holds on to the lead.  Gibbs has secured a spot in the final four with his points.

The caution flag comes out with 37 laps to go when Jeremy Clements gets loose in a three wide battle; Stefan Parsons and Austin Hill were also involved.  Austin Hill has to come down pit road with a tire rub.

Ty Gibbs brings the field down for the green flag restart with just 32 laps remaining in the race.  Ty Gibbs battles with Noah Gragson for the lead; AJ Allmendinger is in a three wide battle.

A big pile up brings out the caution flag with 31 laps to go.   Patrick Emerling, Howie Disavino III, Ryan Vargas, Brandon Brown, Austin Hill, Myatt Snider, CJ McLaughlin, Jeremy Clements, Stefan Parsons, and Mason Massey were all involved in a wreck that literally blocked the track.

Austin Hill made another trip down pit road but it was closed, he will now have to restart the race form the back of the field.

Ty Gibbs brings the field down for the green flag restart with Noah Gragson alongside with just 23 laps remaining in the race. Ty Gibbs gets out in front from the inside lane with Noah Gragson and Brandon Jones in a battle for second.

With 22 laps to go the top five are Ty Gibbs, Brandon Jones, Noah Gragson, Sammy Smith, and Riley Herbst.  Justin Allgaier and AJ Allmendinger continue to battle for position.  They are tied for the fourth spot in the playoffs.

While Allgaier and Allmendinger battle for position, Ty Gibbs has pulled out to a lead of nearly a second on Brandon Jones; Noah Gragson, Sammy Smith, and Riley Herbst round out the top five.

The caution flag comes out with just 16 laps to go for a flat tire on AJ Allmendinger’s car.

Brandon Jones passed Noah Gragson for second.  Next season Gragson will move up to the Cup Series and Jones will take over driving of the number nine car currently driven by Gragson.

Ty Gibbs brings the field down for the green flag restart with just 10 laps to go with Noah Gragson alongside.  Brandon Jones chose to restart behind his teammate Ty Gibbs instead of alongside.  Brandon Jones comes up from the inside to battle with Ty Gibbs for the lead and gets out in front as the caution flag comes out with eight to go.  Kyle Weatherman gets into the wall and brings out the caution flag.

Brandon Jones brings the field down for the green flag restart in a two lap overtime shootout to the end.  In a thee wide battle between Brandon Jones, Ty Gibbs, and Sammy Smith; Sith gets into the wall and brings the caution flag out. 

In a second overtime shootout, Brandon Jones brings the field down for the green flag from the inside lane and gets out in front for the lead.  The caution flag comes out once again when teammates Sam Mayer bumps Justin Allgaier who gets into Josh Berry; spinning Berry out.  The tow is knocked out of Allgaier’s car who has been battling with AJ Allmendinger for the fourth spot in the playoffs.

The race goes into a third overtime restart with Ty Gibbs in the lead.   Noah Gragson is on the outside lane with Ty Gibbs on the inside.  Brandon Jones makes it a three wide battle for the lead.  A push form Sheldon Creed puts Brandon Jones in front but Ty Gibbs hits Jones and pushes him out of the way and causes Jones to spin out and brings out the caution flag but the white flag had already waved.  Ty Gibbs – who had already advanced to the final four – wins the race.

Justin Allgaier is the fourth driver to make it in the final four; joining Noah Gragson, Josh Berry, and Ty Gibbs.

The crowd greets Ty Gibbs with some resounding BOO’s over the outcome of the race.  Gibbs said that he just wanted to get Brandon Jones out of the way.
