Point Standings – Aug 15

There are just more races remaining in the Cup Series regular season and with his current lead Chase Elliott is very close to being crowned the regular season champion even before the final regular season race in Daytona.  Elliott has a commanding lead in the stage point standings witH 213, 26 over Ryan Blaney.  Martin Truex Jr continues to lead the field in stage wins with seven but is in danger of not making the playoffs.

Chase Elliott also leads in the point standings with 882 points – 116 more than Ryan Blaney.  In a clean sweep, Elliott also leads in the playoff standings with 2,040.

After the race in Richmond on Sunday, the top 10 drivers with race wins have secured a spot in the first round of the playoffs.

In the Camping World Truck Series, the drivers run a shorter schedule and have already begun the first round of the playoffs with Grant Enfinger and Chandler Smith winning a race.
