It was a wild and chaotic weekend for NASCAR at Pocono Raceway as the first playoff round was set for camping World Truck Series and the Cup Series saw the first disqualification of a winner in over 60 years when winner Denny Hamlin and second place driver Kyle Busch were both disqualified after an issue with the fascia in post race inspection.  A couple of L1 penalties and a concussion protocol also came into play to shake up the point standings a bit.  Both Petty GMS cars – the 42 driven by Ty Dillon and the 43 driven by Erik Jones – were issued L1 penalties for box assembly issues that resulted in a 35 point loss for both drivers and owners.  And after a crash during qualifying, Kurt Busch was not cleared by medical personnel who is dealing with concussion like symptoms.

Through it all Chase Elliott was declared the winner for his fourth win of the season and holds on to his dominance over all of the point standings.  The only category that Chase Elliott does not lead is the stage point standings and Martin Truex Jr leads that with seven; Chase Elliott and Ryan Blaney follow with five each.
