It’s the final race of the 2022 SRX Racing Series and for the final race they travel to Sharon Speedway for some dirt track racing and special guests.
In the broadcast booth, Joey Logano joins Allen Bestwick for the race.
Chase Elliott takes over his Dad’s ride and Cup Series driver Ryan Blaney will be racing against his Dad Dave. Ryan called it one of the coolest things racing with his Dad; adding that he hopes he can keep up with Dad.. Sharon Speedway is owned by the Blaney family.
Dad Dave said that he hopes everybody has fun.
Keeping it in the family, Ryan’s grandma Katie gives the command to start engines.

The starting lineup is selected by random draw.
The two heat races are 12 minutes each with the field inverted for heat race number two. The finishes in the heat races determine the starting order for the main event.
There are no backup cars available for tonight’s race.
The caution flag comes out less than a minute after race start for a crash involving five drivers. Paul Tracy, Michael Waltrip, Ryan Blaney, Chase Elliott, and Matt Kenseth were all involved. Ryan Blaney is on pit road with the crews working to make repairs.
Over the two SRX racing seasons, the dirt tracks have brought the most caution flags.

Paul Tracy will sit on the pole for heat number two.
Matt Kenseth says that he hopes they get the car repaired in time for the feature race.
Sharon Speedway has been in operation since 1929 and has run at least one race every year since. The track isn’t covered in dirt but red clay.
In previous weeks, Paul Tracy drove a bright yellow/green car; this week he is driving a lavender car. He says it’s a reflection of a kinder gentler him.

Going into the main event, Marco Andretti is the championship leader.
Tony Stewart said that he did really well in practice but in the heat races he has hit everything but the pace car.
The crews got the cars for Matt Kenseth and Ryan Blaney repaired and all 13 cars will be in the feature race.

Leading every lap so far, Ryan Newman brings the field down for the green flag restart with Chase Elliott edging out in front for the lead. Pau Tracy returns to the track.

Dave Blaney is back on the track and Chase Elliott brings the field down for the green flag restart but it is Ryan Newman who gets out in front before Chase Elliott comes up to go side by side.
The caution flag comes out on lap 32 for debris on the track.

Chase Elliott jumps the cushion and loses a little time in his battle with Tony Stewart.
The race has a time limit and there are only 10 laps remaining in the race.
With nine laps to go the caution flag comes out for Tony Kanaan who spins out.

The caution flag comes out for a crash involving Ryan Hunter-Reay and Marco Andretti. Andretti is back on pit road for repairs.

With Smoke on the bottom and Chase Elliott on the top, the two continue to battle for the lead.
Chase Elliott has gotten out in front and takes the white flag.
