In this week’s penalty report, NASCAR has issued a single penalty and reinstated a crew member.
After the post race inspection for the Camping World Truck Series, the number 13 ThorSport Racing truck driven by Johnny Sauter was found to have a single lug nut improperly secured. As a result, crew chief Carl Jones Jr was fined $2,500.
The Camping World Truck Series shared a double header weekend at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway with the Cup Series this past weekend.
Last October, NASCAR suspended driver Carson Ware after an abuse charge for violation of the NASCAR rule book’s behavioural policy. On June 7, NASCAR has reinstated Ware. NASCAR officials stated that Ware has “successfully completed the terms and conditions mandated for reinstatement”. The Rowan Country, North Carolina Sheriff’s Department arrested Ware on October 21, 2021 for “simple assault” on a woman. He issued a $1,000 secured bond.
The 22 year old Ware had only competed in nine Xfinity Series races prior to his suspension.
Ware was driving for SS Green Light Racing at the time of his suspension and the team also suspended the driver even though he had four races remaining on his contract.
