On a hot May  Friday afternoon at Texas Motor Speedway the Xfinity Series takes to the track for a 20 minute practice session and qualifying for the SRS Distribution 250 on Saturday May 21.

Thirty-nine teams have brought cars to the track for 38 starting spots in the race.

Jeffrey Earnhardt returns to the track but this time he will be driving the number 26 car.

After crashing during practice, Landon Cassill will have to move to a backup car for the race and will not make a qualifying run.

With his car in the garage for technical issues, AJ Allmendinger will make a qualifying run after not getting make a practice run.

Brennan Poole is the first driver on the track to make a qualifying run and posts a time of 31.277 seconds.

With a time of 29.59 seconds, Tyler Reddick is the first driver to break the 30 second mark while making a qualifying run.

Tyler Reddick had to wait until the very last driver to qualify before he learned that he would be starting on the front row…next to pole sitter Noah Gragson who ran a time of 29. 542 seconds around the mile and a half track.

Brennan Poole failed to qualify for the race but William Byron driving the number 88 car did make the field.

Stages one and two of the race are 40 laps each with stage three lasting 87 laps for a total of 167 laps around the mile and a half track.

Bayley Currey, Ryan Vargas, Anthony Alfredo, Stefan Parsons, Ty Gibbs,  Brandon Brown, and David Starr will all have to start from the back of the field after their crews made unapproved adjustments to their cars.   After Jesse Iwuji replaces Kyle Weatherman in the number 34 car, Iwuji will have to start the race from the back of the field.  After crashing his car during practice, Landon Cassill is starting from the back of the field in a backup car.

Kevin Harvick and Joey Logano join Adam Alexander in the FOX broadcast booth for today’s race.

Looking to make it four wins in a row, JR Motorsports has all four of their drivers starting the race in the top 10.

Noah Gragson brings the field down for the green flag start of the race from the inside lane and jumps out in front of Tyler Reddick for the lead.

Lap two, Noah Gragson has already pulled out to a lead of nearly half a second on Austin Hill; Brandon Jones, Sam Mayer, and Ryan Truex round out the top five.

Lap four, Noah Gragson has increased his lead to a second on Austin Hill; Brandon Jones, Sam Mayer, and Justin Allgaier round out the top five.

Lap seven, Noah Gragson’s lead is now a second and a half on Austin Hill; Brandon Jones, Sam Mayer, and Justin Allgaier round out the top five.

Lap 10, Noah Gragson has pulled out to a near two second lead on Austin Hill; Brandon Jones, Justin Allgaier, and Sam Mayer round out the top five.  Ty Gibbs has entered the top 20 after starting the race from the back of the field.

Lap 18, Noah Gragson leads the race with team mate Justin Allgiaer in second less than a half second behind; Austin Hill, Brandon Jones, and Sam Mayer round out the top five.

Lap 20, there are 36 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 21, Noah Gragson has just a quarter of a second lead on Justin Allgaier; Brandon Jones, Austin Hill, and Ryan Truex round out the top five.

Amidst slower traffic, Justin Allgaier passes Noah Gragson for the lead on lap 22.

Ryan Vargas brings out the first caution flag of the race with a heavily smoking tail pipe after spinning out.  The car is stopped on the track with safety workers preparing to tow the car off the track.

Joey Logano revealed that none of the drivers in today’s race have won a race at Texas.

Justin Allgaier brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 31 from the outside lane with Noah Gragson on the inside.  Noah Gragson gets out in front for the lead with Justin Allgaier in second.

Daniel Hemric hits the wall but the track stayed green.

CJ McLaughlin gets loose and spins out; bringing out the caution flag on lap 33.

Lap 38 Noah Gragson leads the race with Justin Allgaier in second; AJ Allmendinger, Brandon Jones, and Austin Hill round out the top five.

CJ McLaughlin spins out again on lap 38 and brings out the third caution flag of the race.  Ty Gibbs gets sideways after some contact from Jeb Burton.

Stage one ends under caution with Noah Gragson winning the stage for his sixth stage win of the season.  This is the seventh stage win in a row for JR Motorsports drivers.

Josh Berry is the new leader after staying out on the track; he leads the field to the green flag start of stage two from the inside lane on lap 47.  Berry jumps out in front for the lead.  Drivers are getting three wide back in the field/

Lap 48, Josh Berry leads the race with Landon Cassill in second driving a backup car; Tyler Reddick, William Byron, and Riley Herbst round out the top five.  Noah Gragson is in 16th place.

Lap 50, Josh Berry has a lead of over half a second on Tyler Reddick; William Byron, Riley Herbst, and Landon Cassill round out the top five.

Ryan Vargas is out of the race.

Lap 53, after starting the stage back in the pack, Justin Allgaier is back in the top five.  Josh Berry has a narrow lead on Tyler Reddick; William Byron, Riley Herbst, and Justin Allgaier round out the top five.  Noah Gragson is just outside of the top 10 in eleventh place.

Lap 56, JR Motorsports drivers have led every lap of the race so far.

Lap 57, Sheldon Creed brings out the caution flag when he gets loose and hits the wall before sliding down the track.  Austin Hill and Myatt Snider make some on track contact.

Daniel Hemric was charged with speeding on pit road and had an uncontrolled tire on pit road.

Josh Berry brings the field down for the green flag restart from the inside lane on lap 63 and jumps out in front for the lead.  David Starr spins out but he saves the car and the track stays green.

Lap 64, Josh Berry leads the race with Tyler Reddick and William Byron battling for second; Justin Allgaier and Ryan Truex round out the top five.  Noah Gragson is back in the top 10 in seventh.

Lap 65, Tyler Reddick challenges Josh Berry for the lead but Berry holds him off.

Lap 66, Josh Berry has a narrow lead on Tyler Reddick; Justin Allgaier, William Byron, and Riley Herbst rounding out the top five.

Lap 69, Tyler Reddick again looks to challenge Josh Berry for the lead but Justin Allgaier gives Reddick a battle and takes second.  Noah Gragson is back in the top five.

Lap 71, the top five are Josh Berry, Justin Allgaier, William Byron, Tyler Reddick, and Noah Gragson.

Driving the number 88 car, William Byron is listed as a JR Motorsports driver; putting all five of the JRM cars in the top seven.

Josh Berry continues the sweep with a stage two win for JRM.

Riley Herbst was charged with equipment interference in his pit stall.  Landon Cassill had an uncontrolled tire on pit road.

Josh Berry brings the field down for the green flag start of stage three on lap 88 from the inside lane with Justin Allgaier alongside.  Josh Berry gets sideways and brings out the caution flag with a crash that involves several drivers.  Justin Allgaier, Noah Gragson, Ty Gibbs, Matt Mills, and Josh Williams were also involved.

Justin Allgaier is the new leader.

Lap 95, Justin Allgaier brings the field down for the green flag restart from the outside lane with William Byron on the inside.  Allgaier jumps out in front for the lead.

With 73 laps to go Justin Allgaier has the lead to continue the JRM dominance of the race; William Byron, Tyler Reddick, Ryan Truex, and Austin Hill round out the top five.

Matt Mills is out of the race.

Three laps down back in 36th place, Noah Gragson blows a tire and hits the wall; bringing out the seventh caution flag of the race on lap 98.  Gragson takes his car to the garage and is out of the race.

Lap 103, Justin Allgaier brings the field down for the green flag restart from the outside lane with William Byron on the inside lane.  Allgaier jumps out in front for the lead with William Byron taking second.

Drivers are getting three wide across the track in a battle for position.

Lap 105, Justin Allgaier has a lead of nearly half a second on William Byron; Sam Mayer, Ryan Truex, and Jeb Burton round ou t the top five.

Sixty to go, Justin Allgaier leads the race with William Byron in second; Sam Mayer, Ryan Truex, and AJ Allmendinger round out the top five.

Lap 112 William Byron passes Justin Allgaier to take the lead; Sam Mayer passes Allgaier for second.

AJ Allmendinger did not get a single lap of practice on Friday afternoon and started the race from the middle of the pack.  He is Now in the top 10 where he has finished every race this season.

Lap 114, Justin Allgaier reports that he has a tire going down.

Fifty to go, William Byron leads the race with Sam Mayer in second; Ryan Truex, Justin Allgaier, and Austin Hill round out the top five.

Lap 118, Justin Allgaier brings out the eighth caution flag of the race with a flat tire. 

Pit road is full of drivers getting fresh tires and fuel to make it to the end of the race.  Taking only two tires, Landon Cassill wins the race off of pit road.

Lap 119, Austin Hill stayed out on the track and becomes the new leader.  This marks the first time in the race that a JRM driver is not the leader.

Austin Hill brings the field down for the green flag restart from the outside lane with Brandon Jones alongside with 45 laps remaining in the race.

Austin Hill gets out in front for the lead with Brandon Jones in second; Landon Cassill, Ryan Ellis, and William Byron round out the top five.

The ninth caution flag of the race comes out on lap 123 when David Starr and Joe Graf Jr make contact causing Starr and Ryan Sieg to spin out.

Austin Hill brings the field down for the green flag restart from te outside lane with 39 laps remaining in the race.  Hill jumps out in front for the lead with Brandon Jones in second; William Byron, Landon Cassill, and Tyler Reddick round out the top five.  Landon Cassill slapped the wall on the restart but the track stayed green.

Ryan Sieg brings out the tenth caution flag of the race when he gets loose and hits the wall.

There are 33 cars on the lead lap.

Austin Hill brings the filed down for the green flag restart from the outside lane with Brandon Jones in a beat up car on the inside with 33 laps remaining in the race.  Brandon Jones edges out to take the lead.

The top five are Brandon Jones, Austin Hill, Tyler Reddick, William Byron, and Landon Cassill.

Tyler Reddick comes from third to pass Austin Hill and Brandon Jones for the lead.

Alex Labbe spins out and brings out the caution flag.  Several drivers get caught up in the melee when he crosses down the track after hitting the wall. JJ Yeley hit the wall hard taking it off of the ground.  Ryan Ellis, Patrick Emerling, Jesse Iwuji, Anthony Alfredo, Timmy Hill, David Starr, and Sheldon Creed were also involved.

Alex Labbe hit the wall hard enough that track officials have to make some repairs to the wall.

Leader Tyler Reddick is reporting a vibration to his car.

Brandon Jones comes down pit road for fresh tires.

Tyler Reddick brings the field down for the green flag restart from the inside lane after an extended yellow flag condition with just 22 laps remaining in the race.  Tyler Reddick edges out Austin Hill to take the lead with Austin Hill in second; William Byron, AJ Allmendinger, and  Josh Berry round out the top five. 

Twenty to go, Tyler Reddick has a lead of over a second on William Byron; AJ Allmendinger, Austin Hill, and Sam Mayer round out the top five.  Justin Allgaier restarted the race in 31st place after his flat tire that caused a wreck; he is now in eighth place.

AJ Allmendinger is falling in the field.  He and Justin Allgaier make contact in a three wide battle; the track stays green.

With 15 laps remaining in the race, Tyler Reddick has a lead of nearly a second  and a half on William Byron; Austin Hill, Sam Mayer, and Ryan Truex round out the top five with Justin Allgaier in sixth.
