For over 150 years visitors to Niagara Falls have taken the boat ride to get a close up view of the three majestic waterfalls – the American, Bridal Veil, and Horseshoe – that make up Niagara Falls.

Over the years the boats have gone steam powered to diesel motors; but they always been called the Maid of the Mist; named for a maiden who jumped over the Falls to her death.

Last year the Maid of the Mist christened a new boat – an electric boat. The quieter motor allows visitors to experience the full power of the Falls. A longer boat, the Maid of the Mist boat on the American side now has a capacity of 600 poncho clad visitors for the ride that lasts about 30 minutes.

The view is spectacular and the trip is the ride of a lifetime!

The Maid of the Mist is a part of the attractions at Niagara Falls State Park – the oldest state park in the United States.
