Tony Award winning actor Robert Morse died April 20, 2022 in his Los Angeles home after a brief illness at the age of 90.

Morse loved acting and considered himself a down to earth guy who loved going to Costco.

Making his Broadway debut in 1955, Morse appeared in eight productions beginning with “The Matchmaker”.  He also appeared in “Say, Darling”, “Take Me Along”, “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying”, “Sugar”, “So Long, 174th Street”, “Tru”, and “The Front Page”.

In Hollywood, Morse appeared in 75 film and television productions including the film productions of “The Matchmaker” and “How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” after appearing the productions on Broadway.  His other appearances include “Naked City”, “That’s Life”, “Alias, Smith, and Jones”, “Love, American Style”, as Harry the Bookie in two episodes of the daytime drama “All My Children”, as Dewey Hogg in an episode of “The Dukes of Hazzard”, several characters in “Pound Puppies”, “ProStars”, Grandpa in “Here Come the Munsters”, “City of Angles”, Bertram Cooper in “Mad Men”, “American Crime Story”, and his final role in “Teen Titan Go!”.

He was born Robert Xavier Morse on May 18, 1931 in Newton, Massachusetts.  He caught the acting bug while still in high school.  He followed his older brother Richard to New York, making his stage debut in 1949 with “On the Town”.

Morse is survived by his second wife Elizabeth and five children – Charlie, Robin, Andrea, Hilary, and Allyn.
