Mother Nature started off a triple header weekend at Martinsville Speedway with a rain storm. The nasty weather cancelled out practice and qualifying for the Camping World Truck Series and the field has been set by NASCAR’s metric that takes into account race results and standings.
Two time race winner Zane Smith sits on the pole and will bring the field to the green flag with Truck Series owner and Cup Series driver Kyle Busch starting alongside in the number 51 truck on the front row.

Already near the back of the field, Dillon Steuer’s truck has been moved to the back of the field after the crew made some unapproved adjustments to the truck.
Stages one and two of the race are 50 laps each with stage three lasting 100 laps for a total of 200 laps around the half mile track. The drivers can run 135 to 145 laps on a single load of fuel.
The number 66 truck of Ty Majeski was on pit road getting a battery changed while the drivers were making their pace laps.
Zane Smith brings the field down for the green flag start of the race from the inside lane and jumps out in front of Kyle Busch for the lead.
Lap three, Zane Smith leads the race with Ben Rhodes in second; Kyle Busch, Chandler Smith, and John Hunter Nemechek round out the top five.
One of the shortest tracks on the NASCAR circuit, leaders will be lapping slower trucks quickly.
Lap six, Zane Smith has pulled out to a half second lead on Ben Rhodes; Kyle Busch, Chandler Smith, and Stewart Friesen round out the top five.
The first caution flag of the race comes out on lap eight after Kris Wright and Jack Wood make contact. Both drivers are moving but there is damage to both vehicles.
All drivers are still on the lead lap so there is no “lucky dog”.
Kyle Busch reported no communication with the crew but has switched channels and all is well.
Zane Smith brings the field down f or the green flag restart on lap 14 and holds on to the lead with Ben Rhodes in second.
Dean Thompson gets slowed on the track and brings out the second caution flag. He reports a possible engine issue. There is a fire inside the cockpit and Thompson works quickly to get out of the truck.
Zane Smith brings the field down for the green flag restart from the inside lane on lap 24. Smith gets out in front for the lead. He has led every lap so far.
Lap 25, the top five are Zane Smith, Stewart Friesen, Ben Rhodes, Kyle Busch, and Chandler Smith.
John Hunter Nemechek missed a shift on the restart and dropped to eighth place.
Lap 30, Zane Smith has pulled out to a lead of over a second on Stewart Friesen; Ben Rhodes, Kyle Busch, and Chandler Smith round out the top five.
Hailie Deegan gets into the wall after some contact with Johnny Sauter but the track stays green. There is some damage to her truck.
Lap 35, Zane Smith continues to lead the race with Stewart Friesen in second; Ben Rhodes, Kyle Busch, and Chandler Smith continue to round out the top five.
Spencer Boyd gets stalled on the track and brings out the third caution flag of the race.

Matt Crafton was caught speeding on pit road. Tate Fogleman was charged with having a crew member over the wall too soon.

Dillon Steuer and Kaden Honeycutt were caught speeding on pit road. Kris Wright was charged with the crew having an uncontrolled tire on pit road. Chase Janes was charged with a safety violation – his fueler took his helmet off.

Lap 62, the top five are Ben Rhodes, Kyle Busch, Christian Eckes, Carson Hocevar, and Matt DiBenedetto.

Kaden Honeycutt brings out the caution flag when he spins out after contact form Austin Wayne Self right after race restart in a three wide battle on lap 109. He is reporting no power in the truck. Dillon Steuer and Tanner Gray sustained some damage after contact with Honeycutt.

The ninth caution flag of the race comes out on lap 121 when Dillon Steuer is stopped on the track with heavy damage. This is Steuer’s Truck Series debut.
After having to restart the race from the back of the field with a speeding penalty, Zane Smith has only advanced to 22nd place.
