Mother Nature started off a triple header weekend at Martinsville Speedway with a rain storm.  The nasty weather cancelled out practice and qualifying for the Camping World Truck Series and the field has been set by NASCAR’s metric that takes into account race results and standings.

Two time race winner Zane Smith sits on the pole and will bring the field to the green flag with Truck Series owner and Cup Series driver Kyle Busch starting alongside in the number 51 truck on the front row.

Already near the back of the field, Dillon Steuer’s truck has been moved to the back of the field after the crew made some unapproved adjustments to the truck.

Stages one and two of the race are 50 laps each with stage three lasting 100 laps for a total of 200 laps around the half mile track. The drivers can run 135 to 145 laps on a single load of fuel.

The number 66 truck of Ty Majeski was on pit road getting a battery changed while the drivers were making their pace laps.

Zane Smith brings the field down for the green flag start of the race from the inside lane and jumps out in front of Kyle Busch for the lead.

Lap three, Zane Smith leads the race with Ben Rhodes in second; Kyle Busch, Chandler Smith, and John Hunter Nemechek round out the top five.

One of the shortest tracks on the NASCAR circuit, leaders will be lapping slower trucks quickly.

Lap six, Zane Smith has pulled out to a  half second lead on Ben Rhodes; Kyle Busch, Chandler Smith, and Stewart Friesen round out the top five.

The first caution flag of the race comes out on lap eight after Kris Wright and Jack Wood make contact.  Both drivers are moving but there is damage to both vehicles.

All drivers are still on the lead lap so there is no “lucky dog”.

Kyle Busch reported no communication with the crew but has switched channels and all is well.

Zane Smith brings the field down f or the green flag restart on lap 14 and holds on to the lead with Ben Rhodes in second.

Dean Thompson gets slowed on the track and brings out the second caution flag.  He reports a possible engine issue.  There is a fire inside the cockpit and Thompson works quickly to get out of the truck.

Zane Smith brings the field down for the green flag restart from the inside lane on lap 24.  Smith gets out in front for the lead.  He has led every lap so far.

Lap 25, the top five are Zane Smith, Stewart Friesen, Ben Rhodes, Kyle Busch, and Chandler Smith.

John Hunter Nemechek missed a shift on the restart and dropped to eighth place.

Lap 30, Zane Smith has pulled out to a lead of over a second on Stewart Friesen; Ben Rhodes, Kyle Busch, and Chandler Smith round out the top five.

Hailie Deegan gets into the wall after some contact with Johnny Sauter but the track stays green.  There is some damage to her truck.

Lap 35, Zane Smith continues to lead the race with Stewart Friesen in second; Ben Rhodes, Kyle Busch, and Chandler Smith continue to round out the top five.

Spencer Boyd gets stalled on the track and brings out the third caution flag of the race.

Blake Lothian is the “lucky dog”.

Some of the drivers come down pit road for service.

Matt Crafton was caught speeding on pit road.  Tate Fogleman was charged with having a crew member over the wall too soon.

Zane Smith brings the field down for the green flag restart with just five laps remaining in stage one.  Zane Smith continues to lead the race with Stewart Friesen in second; Ben Rhodes, John Hunter Nemechek, and Christian Eckes round out the top five.  Kyle Busch returns to the track in 12th place.

Drivers come down pit road for service with a few staying out on the track. 

Despite leading every lap in the stage, Zane Smith is reporting a tight issue in his truck.

Dillon Steuer and Kaden Honeycutt were caught speeding on pit road.  Kris Wright was charged with the crew having an uncontrolled tire on pit road.  Chase Janes was charged with a safety violation – his fueler took his helmet off.

Ben Rhodes brings the field down for the green flag start of stage two and gets out in front for the lead on lap 61.

Lap 62, the top five are Ben Rhodes, Kyle Busch, Christian Eckes, Carson Hocevar, and Matt DiBenedetto.

There are 31 trucks on the lead lap.

Lap 66, Zane Smith is in 14th place.

Lap 68, Ben Rhodes has a half second lead on Kyle Busch; Carson Hocevar, Christian Eckes, and William Byron round out the top five.

Ben Rhodes and Christian Eckes have yet to make a pit stop.

The caution fifth caution flag comes out on lap 70 when Spencer Boyd gets stopped on the track.  Boyd takes his truck to the garage.

Lap 73, after starting the race form the back of the field, Johnny Sauter has entered the top 10 in nineth place.

Ben Rhodes brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 76 and jumps out in front for the lead with Kyle Busch in second.

Lap 78, the top five are Ben Rhodes, Kyle Busch, William Byron, Carson Hocevar, and Christian Eckes.  Zane Smith has entered the top 10.

Lawless Alan brings out the sixth caution flag of the race on lap 79 when he spins out but gets moving again.

Ben Rhodes brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 86 with Carson Hocevar alongside.  Rhodes gets out in front for the lead.

Lap 88, Ben Rhodes has pulled out to a lead of over a second on Carson Hocevar.

Lap 91, Ben Rhodes ahs a lead of over a second and a half on Christian Eckes – neither driver has made a pit stop yet.

Lap 93, the top five are Ben Rhodes, Christian Eckes, Carson Hocevar, Zane Smith, and John Hunter Nemechek.

Lap 96, Ben Rhodes has increased his lead to two seconds on Christian Eckes; Carson Hocevar, Zane Smith, and John Hunter Nemechek round out the top five.

William Byron brings the field down for the green flag start of stage three on lap 109 with Chandler Smith alongside.  William Byron gets out in front for the lead.

Kaden Honeycutt brings out the caution flag when he spins out after contact form Austin Wayne Self right after race restart in a three wide battle on lap 109.  He is reporting no power in the truck.  Dillon Steuer and Tanner Gray sustained some damage after contact with Honeycutt.

William Byron brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 117 and battles with Chandler Smith to take the lead.

The top five are William Byron, Chandler Smith, Matt Crafton, Johnny Sauter, and Stewart Friesen.

Lap 119, William Byron has a lead of over half a second on Chandler Smith; Johnny Sauter, Matt Crafton, and Kyle Busch round out the top five.  Drivers are getting three wide back in the field.

The ninth caution flag of the race comes out on lap 121 when Dillon Steuer is stopped on the track with heavy damage.  This is Steuer’s Truck Series debut.

After having to restart the race from the back of the field with a speeding penalty, Zane Smith has only advanced to 22nd place.

William Byron brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap128 with Johnny Sauter on the outside lane.   Byron gets out in front for the lead with Johnny Sauter in second.

Lap 129, the top vie are William Byron, Johnny Sauter, Chandler Smith, Kyle Busch, and Matt Crafton.

Kaden Honeycutt, Dean Thompson, and Jack Wood are out of the race.

Lap 131, William Byron has a lead of nearly a second on Johnny Sauter; Chandler Smith, Kyle Busch, and Matt Crafton round out the top five.

Stewart Friesen spins out in a three wide battle and brings out the caution flag on lap 134.

Blake Lothian gets the “lucky dog” for the third time in the race.

Lap 140, William Byron has already pulled ut to a half second lead on Johnny Sauter.

Drivers are getting three wide across the track.  With just 57 laps remaining in the race, the drivers get getting more aggressive.

Lap 144, William Byron has a lead of nearly a second on Johnny Sauter; Chandler Smith, Kyle Buscvh, and Matt Crafton round out the top five.

Kyle Busch passes Chandler Smith for third.

Lap 152, William Byron leads the race with Johnny Sauter in second over a second behind; Kyle Busch, Chandler Smith, and Matt Crafton round out the top five.

Jesse Little brings out the eleventh caution flag when he gets turned around after contact form Tate Fogleman.  Kris Wright also has some damage to his truck.

There is a fire in Austin Wayne Self’s truck.  Crews are armed with fire extinguishers to douse the flames.

William Byron brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 164 and jumps out in front for the lead with Johnny Sauter in second; Kyle Busch, John Hunter Nemechek, and Chandler Smith round out the top five.

Drivers are three wide across the track as they battle for position with only 33 laps remaining in the race.

Lap 168, William Byron has a lead of over half a second on Johnny Sauter; Kyle Busch, John Hunter Nemechek, and Chandler Smith round out the top five.

Lap 174, William Bryon continues to dominate the lead of the race with Johnny Sauter in second; Kyle Busch, John Hunter Nemechek, and Chandler Smith round out the top five.

Lap 177, William Byron has a lead of nearly a second and a half on Johnny Sauter.  Zane Smith has entered the top 10 after making a pit stop during the last caution.

Lap 181, William Byron has a lead of over a second on Johnny Sauter; Kyle Busch, John Hunter Nemechek, and Chandler Smith continue to round out the top five.

Lap 184, Ben Rhodes passes Chandler Smit for fifth.
