The Xfinity Series prepares for some Saturday afternoon racing with a Friday afternoon practice and qualifying run.
Forty-one teams have brought cars to fill 38 spots in the field.
After a 20 minutes practice session, the first driver on the track to qualify is Stan Mullins, who ran a time of 31.418 seconds.
Brennan Poole and John Hunter Nemechek are doing double duty this weekend driving in both the Camping World Truck and Xfinity Series.
Jesse Iwuji spins out at the end of his qualifying lap but saved the car and makes a qualifying time of 36.956 seconds. A new team, Iwuji must qualify on time in order to make the race.
John Hunter Nemechek is the first driver to break the 30 second lap with a time of 29.901 seconds.
Landon Cassill puts down a time of 29.645 seconds in a car that has crossed the country twice after a crash and fire last week for repairs.
Jeb Burton spins out during his qualifying lap and touches the wall slightly.
Riley Herbst puts his number 98 car in P1 with a time of 29.55 seconds.
Josh Berry takes his number eight JR Motorsports car to the top with a time of 29.508 seconds.

NASCAR has determined that the Xfinity west coast swing track of Auto Club Speedway and Las Vegas Motor Speedway shoud be treated similar to a doubleheader in baseball. Teams must run the same car and the same engine for both races, any team that made a change will have to move to the back of the field. As a result, there are 16 cars – nearly half of the field – moving to the back of the field for today’s race.

Stages one and two of the race are 45 laps each with stage three lasting 110 laps for a total of 200 laps around the mile and a half track.
It is a very windy day with 15mph winds and gusts up to 50 mph. It will be a very challenging day for the drivers
AJ Allmendinger brings the field down for the green flag start of the race from the inside lane and jumps out in front for the lead.
AJ Allmendinger leads lap one.
Lap two, the top five are AJ Allmendinger, Josh Berry, Noah Gragson, Ryan Truex, and Daniel Hemric.
Ryan Sieg gets loose and hits the wall but gets moving again and the track stays green. Ryan Sieg and Ty Gibbs made contact prior to Sieg’s spinning out.
Lap five, the caution flag comes out for Brennan Poole’s smoking car with a blown engine. Poole’s car has dropped a lot of fluid on the track.
AJ Allmendinger brings the field down for the green flag restart from the inside lane on lap 13 with Josh Berry on the outside. Allmendinger takes the lead with Jsoh Berry in second and Noah Gragson in third.
Lap 15, AJ Allmendinger continues to lead the race with Josh Berry in second. The caution flag comes out for debris on the track.
There are reports of a few rain drops on pit road.
NASCAR keeps the lights on the pace car with a bit of precipitation in the area.
NASCAR is bringing the cars down pit road to wait out the rain.
At 5:10pm eastern time, NASCAR has red flagged the race.

The teams have covered the cars but most of the drivers remain in their cars.
At 5:19pm, NASCAR tells the drivers they can get out of their cars if they choose too. After a 40 minute delay, the drivers get moving again.
Once the drivers get moving again, Landon Cassill will have to restart the race from the back of the field because his crew made an air pressure adjustment during the red flag. No work of any kind is allowed under red flag conditions.
AJ Allmendinger brings the field down for the green flag restart from the inside lane on lap 23 and gets out in front for the lead after a push from team mate Daniel Hemric.
The track temperature has dropped nine degrees since race start and the wind has died down.
Lap 24, the top five are AJ Allmendinger, Josh Berry, Noah Gragson, Ryan Truex, and Sam Mayer.
Lap 27, AJ Allmendinger has pulled out to a half second lead on Josh Berry; Noah Gragson, Sam Mayer, and Ryan Truex round out the top five.
Lap 29, Ryan Sieg and Ty Gibbs make contact once again and bring out the caution flag. Sieg takes his car to the garage with significant damage to his car. Brett Moffitt slapped the wall trying to avoid the wreck. Sheldon Creed was also involved.
Broadcasters report that NASCAR officials had called Ryan Sieg in to “clean things up”.
Justin Allgaier brings his car down pit road for work; saying that “something isn’t right”.
AJ Allmendinger chooses the inside lane and brings the field down for the green flag restart with 13 laps remaining in stage one. Allmendinger gets out in front for the lead but Sam Mayer comes on the inside to challenge for the lead. Noah Gragson makes it a three way battle.
Sam Mayer is the leader with Noah Gragson in second; AJ Allmendinger, Ryan Truex, and Josh Berry round out the top five.
Lap 35, drivers are battling for position like it was the end of the race instead on nearing the end of stage one.
Lap 36, team mates Noah Gragson and Sam Mayer battle for the lead.
Eight laps remain in stage one, AJ Allmendinger and Josh Berry continue to battle with each other while Noah Gragson and Sam Mayer swap the lead back and forth.
Lap 40, Noah Gragson leads the race with Sam Mayer in second; Josh Berry, Ryan Treux, and AJ Allmendinger round out the top five.
Ryan Sieg is out of the race.

Most of the drivers come down pit road for service. Anthony Alfredo was charged with an uncontrolled tire on pit road. Kyle Sieg was caught speeding on pit road. Matt Mills was charged with leaving pit road with equipment.
The cameras have rain drops on the lenses.
After staying out on the track, Sheldon Creed brings the field down for the green flag start of stage two on lap 55 from the outside lane. Creed made a pit stop on lap 30. Drivers quickly get three wide across the track. Sam Mayer takes the lead.

Lap 56 Sam Mayer leads the race with Noah Gragson in second and Austin Hill in third; Ty Gibbs and Josh Berry round out the top five.

The caution floag ocmes out on lap 66 when Jesse Iwuji spins out. Brandon Brown’s car is smoking with a tire rub.

Kyle Weatherman brings out the caution flag with 17 laps remaining in stage two. Weatherman spins out and hits the inside wall with the front of his car.
Noah Gragson brings the field down for the green flag restart from the outside lane with 12 laps remaining in stage two. Gragson and Sam Mayer battle for the lead with Gragson getting out in front.

The caution flag comes out on lap 85 when Matt Mills hits the wall head on hard. The rear wheels came off the ground when he hit the wall. Mills made contact with Joe Graf Jr before hitting the wall. Mills is out of the car and walking to the ambulance.

Lap 103, Justin Allgaier battles with team mate Sam Mayer for the second. Justin Allgaier takes second.
Lap 106, Austin Hill is the leader but Justin Allgaier is on his bumper; Sam Mayer, Noah Gragson, and John Hunter Nemechek round out the top five.
Lap f109, Justin Allgaier comes from the outside to pass Austin Hill for the lead.
Lap 110, the top five are Justin Allgaier, Austin Hill, Sam Mayer, Noah Gragson, and Daniel Hemric.
Lap 112, Justin Allgaier has pulled out to a lead of over a second on Austin Hill.
AJ Allmendinger has worked his way back up to the top 10 in tenth place.
Lap 120, Justin Allgaier continues to lead the race and has pulled out to a three second lead on Noah Gragson; Sam Mayer, Austin Hill, and Ty Gibbs round out the top five.
There are 25 cars on the lead lap.
Lap 125, Justin Allgaier has a three second lead on Ty Gibbs as he continues to pass slower traffic; Sam Mayer, Daniel Hemric, and Austin Hill round out the top five.
Justin Allgaier has some debris on his grille. His lead is now under three seconds on Ty Gibbs.
Lap 130, there are now only 19 cars on the lead lap.
The debris on lead Justin Allgaier’s grille appears to be growing.
Lap 134, Justin Allgaier reports that his car is beginning to overheat. He gets a little help from lapped car Alex Labbe to get the debris off of his grille.
Noah Gragson reports that the handling has gone away; adding that he feels like his tires are cording.
Lap 135, the top five are Justin Allgaier, Noah Gragson, Ty Gibbs, Daniel Hemric, and Sam Mayer.
Lap 137, Noah Gragson makes a green flag pit stop. He is at the edge of the pit window but felt a cording tire required the stop.
Lap 141, Sheldon Creed begins the cycle of green flag pit stops but gets caught speeding on pit road. He will have to serve a pass through penalty.
Lap 142, Daniel Hemric makes his pit stop and more drivers begin to come down pit road.
Lap 143, leader Justin Allgaier’s lead is down to just one second over Sam Mayer.
Lap 144, leader Justin Allgaier makes his green flag pit stop and gives the lead over the Sam Mayer.
Josh Berry gets loose and missed pit road and will have to come around again.
Sam Mayer makes his pit stop and gives the lead over the Brandon Jones.
Lap 146, Brandon Jones brings his car down pit road and gives the lead over to Alex Labbe.

Lap 163, the gap between leader Justin Allgaier and Noah Gragson is growing as Gragson works to save fuel. Allgaier is now two and a half seconds in front of Gragson.
Lap 167, Justin Allgaier has led 50 laps so far and tops the list of race leaders.
Lap 169, Justin Allgiaer has a four second lead on Noah Gragson; Ty Gibbs, Daniel Hemric, and Ryan Truex round out the top five.
Lap 172, Jesse Iwuji spins out and makes contact with Ryan Vargas and Stefan Parsons. Jesse Iwuji takes his car to the garage. None of the drivers were on the lead lap. The rear tires of Ryan Vargas’ car were on the hood of Stefan Parsons’ car during the wreck.
Drivers come down pit road for that last set of fresh tires. Justin Allgaier wins the race off of pit road.
Twenty to go, Justin Allgaier brings the field down for the green flag restart and the drivers immediately get three wide. Noah Gragson takes the lead after a push.

Sam Mayer hits the wall and brings out the ninth caution flag of the race. His rear bumper is dragging on the ground and leaves a large piece of debris on the track.
After wave arounds, there are 16 cars on the lead lap.
Noah Gragson brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 188 from the outside lane. Justin Allgaier gives team mate Noah Gragson a push but Daniel Hemric battles from the inside. Austin Hill gets into the wall hard and brings out the caution flag. Noah Gragson is listed as the leader. JJ Yeley, Riley Herbst and Ryan Truex were also involved.
