If the past two years have taught us anything, it is to enjoy life as much as we can…while we can.
Jim Dooley and Matt Walker have joined together to create “The Revue” – a parody of cinema and theater – and noting that “not everything should be a musical.” The production will open on March 17 at the Colony Theatre in Burbank, CA.
Director Matt Walker will also star in the show with Dooley creating the music and Suzanne Jolie as choreographer. Rick Batalla, Katie DeShan, Tiffany Daniels, Isaac Robinson-Smith, and Travis Leland will all be a part of the show.
Creators say that the production will feature a “Dynamic Plot” – meaning that the show will be ever changing with a different show every night. Only the opening and closing scenes are set; the remainder of the show will be adapted using a combination of 50 different modules.

A director and a producer are desperate to save their theater and audition the craziest musicals that could ever be conceived in an attempt to keep the theater from going under.
Since the audience becomes a part of the show, they can determine whether it will include an intermission, choose a rating from Family Friendly to R, and can even determine the experience of the players. However, the premiere show is set with a rating of 16 and over.
Creator and composer Jim Dooley spoke on the show saying, “what makes this show special is that it is truly accessible for everyone, via a simple familiarity of memorable classic film and television moments and characters. This concept features similarities to The Producers and Forbidden Broadway in the simple production style of I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change!, yet will spur a life and fan-base all its own. This is the type of show the world needs right now and we’re thrilled to debut it with such a great community as the iconic Colony.”
The show will also have a number of familiar object available including the Dark Helmet from “Spaceballs”, Wilson the volleyball from “Castaway”, the Heart of the Ocean from “Titanic”, the puppets of “Avenue Q”, and the tuxedo’s from “Dumb and Dumber”.
The Colony Theatre engagement only runs until March 27; it will then travel to New York City. Tickets are $49 and can be obtained at TheRevueMusical.com
