The Olympic flame has been extinguished and the torch passed to Milan for the Winter games in 2026.
The final days of the Olympics were brutal for athletes out on the slopes.
In the Mixed Team Parallel alpine skiing event, the Austrian team dominated the slope and the competition to take the gold medal.
In the men’s four man bobsled event, Germany continued their dominance of the sliding events with the gold medal. There are 10 events in the sliding sports; Germany won gold in nine of them and has a total 16 overall medals. Germany also won the silver medal.
In the Women’s 30k Mass Start Cross-country skiing event, Noway won the gold with the United States taking the silver medal.
In the women’s curling event, Great Britain won the gold medal; beating out Japan.
Om the men’s gold medal hockey game, Finland won their very first gold in hockey; beating out the team from Russia.
In the final medal count, Norway takes home the win with 16 gold medals and a total of 37 overall. Norway and the Russian OlympicCommittee are the only countries to top 30 total medals.
