For the past several years the world of rock and roll and football have been tied together by spectacular half time performances and historic national anthem renditions.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the National Football League have created a traveling exhibit featuring “The Biggest Show on Turf: 56 Years of Halftime Shows”.
The exhibit is a part of the Super Bowl Experience being held at the Los Angeles Convention Center on February 5, 6, and 10-12.
The exhibit has been on display at the Hall of Fame since last April.
CEO and Rock Hall President Greg Harris spoke on the exhibit saying, “the Super Bowl has always been bigger than just the game. It’s a cultural phenomenon that brings fans together with music and football for an experience like no other. We are thrilled to collaborate with the NFL and Pepsi to travel the exhibit to the Super Bowl and celebrate the dynamic history of the Halftime Show with fans.”
Featured in the immersive exhibit are the mirrored room that was a part of The Weeknd’s halftime show last year in Tampa, Katy Perry’s beach-ball costume complete with Left Shark from 2015, a behind the scenes look at Lady Gaga and Beyonce’s performances, stage plans from The Who’s show; plus time lapse presentations of setting up and tearing down of the performances over the years.
Also included in the exhibit are football inspired memorabilia from the Rock Hall including Roger Daltry’s football helmet and Joe Walsh’s University of Texas football jersey.
