The past two weeks have proved to be wild and crazy for the NASCAR Cup Series playoff drivers. Closing out the round of 12, several of the playoff drivers were caught up in on track incidents that affected their playoff standings.

In the race at Texas Motor Speedway that kicked off the round of eight, two of the playoff drivers suffered major issues that placed them well below the cut line to make the final four – Joey Logano had an engine failure and Martin Truex Jr crashed into the wall and ending his day of racing.

After dominating the race, Kyle Larson won his eighth race of the season and secured his spot in the final four for a shot at the championship. Larson also extended his lead in the point standings and is now 51 points ahead of second place driver Ryan Blaney.

Next weekend the drivers move on to Kansas Speedway before ending the round at Martinsville Speedway.
