After a wild overtime finish in the Camping World Truck Series, the Xfinity Series drivers take to the 2.66 mile track of Talladega Superspeedway for the Sparks 300 to cap off a doubleheader day of racing.

Justin Allgaier sits on the pole and will bring the field to green with Austin Cindric alongsside on the front row.

Josh Berry will be driving the JR Motorsports number one car again this week while Michael Annett continues to recover from a leg injury.

John Hunter Nemechek, Jason White, and Jordan Anderson are doing the doubleheader today and are running in both races.

NASCAR found that Justin Haley’s number eleven car was found that the roof decals were too thick; as a result, Haley will have to start the race from the back of the field and serve a pass through penalty once the race begins.

After serving his pass through penalty, Justin Haley returns to the track in last place but stays on the lead lap.

Getting a push form AJ Allmendinger, Josh Berry takes the lead on lap six. Austin Cindric comes back on the outside and retakes the lead.

Lap 10. AJ Allmendinger takes the lead on the outside with Brandon Jones leading the pack on the inside lane.

Lap eleven, AJ Allmendinger leads the race with Josh Berry in second; Justin Allgaier, Brandon Jones, and Harrison Burton round out the top five.

Drivers are three and four wide across the track as they battle for position.

Lap 13, AJ Allmendinger leads the race but Brandon Jones comes from the inside lane to take the lead.

Lap 15, Brandon Jones holds on to the lead with Austin Cindric in second. Harrison Burton takes second with John Hunter Nemechek in third; Daniel Hemric and AJ Allmendinger round out the top five.

Lap 16, all of the drivers are still on the lead lap but Justin Haley is less than a straight away from going a lap down.

Lap 17, Harrison Burton is the new leader.

Lap 18, Harrison Burton leads the race with John Hunter Nemechek in second; Daniel Hemric, Brandon Jones, and Jeb Burton round out the top five.

Lap 21, five laps remain in stage one, John Hunter Nemechek is the leader with Harrison Burton in second; Jeb Burton, Austin Cindric, and Riley Herbst round out the top five.

Three laps remain in stage one, Jeb Burton battles with John Hunter Nemechek for the lead.

The caution flag comes out at the end of stage one when Sam Mayer gets into the wall after a four wide battle. AJ All was also involved in the wreck.

Drivers come down pit road for service with Riley Herbst winning the race off of pit road after taking only two tires. Herbst was one of several drivers to take just two tires. Blaine Perkins took fuel only.

NASCAR has red flagged the race in order to make some repairs to the wall after Sam Mayer and AJ Allmendinger hit the wall.

With a red flag condition, fans can watch the Cup Series haulers making their way to the garage.

AJ Allmendinger is out of the infield care center and is unhappy but fine.

After a delay of a little over five minutes, NASCAR has displayed the yellow flag. The cars are moving once again.

The caution flag comes out on lap 75 when Bayley Currey gets stopped on pit road after making his pit stop. Mason Massey is the leader.

Lap 89, Brett Moffitt takes the lead.

The caution flag ocmes out for a big crash; drivers are scattering all over the track. Jeb Burton tried to give leader Brett Moffitt a push and turned him around. The remaining cars involved had nowhere to go.

The race has been red flagged for a second time.

Noah Gragson got the worst of the crash getting hit in the rear and then hitting the wall. Myatt Snider, Caesar Bacarella, Ryan Vargas, Garrett Smithely, CJ McLaughlin, Ryan Sieg, Brandon Jones, Mason Massey, and Santino Ferrucci were also involved.

All of the drivers involved in the wreck exited their cars and walked to the ambulance for the mandatory trip to the infield car center.

After an extended red flag to get the track cleaned up, the engines are cranked once again and are moving.

In his post infield care center interview, Noah Gragson spoke on next week’s race at The Roval, saying that he does pretty good there…especially in the rain and asks that the track turns on the sprinklers and gets the track really wet for the race.

NBC Sportscasters are reporting that rain is in the area. And it is beginning to get a little dark out and there are no lights at Talladega.

Jeffrey Earnhardt hits the wall and heads into the grass. He get the car down pit road nad the track stays green.

Leaders are single file with Brandon Jones in the lead. There are 26 cars on the lead lap with nearly a dozen cars out of the race.

With 17 laps to go, Brandon Jones leads the race with Justin Allgaier in second; Daniel Hemric, Justin Haley, and Brandon Brown round out the top five.

Fifteen to go, Brandon Jones leads from the outside lane with Justin Allgaier in second.

Fourteen to go, Brandon Brown leads the race with Jordan Anderson in second; Brandon Jones, Austin Cindric, and Daniel Hemric round out the top five.

Twelved laps remain in the race, it is a battle of the Brandon’s with Brandon Jones taking the lead.

The caution flag comes out for another big crash with 12 laps remaining in the race. Riley Herbst’s car is destroyed. Harrison Burton got loose after a push causing a big pile up.

Harrison Burton, Brett Moffitt, John Hunter Nemechek, Jeb Burton, Daniel Hemric, Jordan Anderson, Alex Labbe, Jason White, Josh Williams, and Riely Herbst were all involved in the crash.

NASCAR has determined that Brandon Brown is the leader, but Brandon Jones team believes that they are the leaders and have filed a protest with NASCAR.

Some of the drivers are lobbying for the race to be called due to darkness; while others are saying that they will race until it is pitch dark to finish a race.

On lap 107, NASCAR has called the race due to darkness, naming Brandon Brown as the winner of the race. On the radio Brown calls his first ever win a dream come true. Brandon is very emotional in the car repeating we did it.

It may be too dark to race, but it wasn’t too dark for Brandon Brown to give an impressive burnout.

The crowd is chanting, “let’s go Brandon!’”
