The Camping World Truck Series begins their round of eight of the playoffs with the Victoria’s Voice Foundation 200 Presented by Westgate Resorts at Las Vegas Motor Speedway as they kick off a tripleheader weekend on Friday night.
Truck Series regular series champion John unter Nemechek sits on the pole and will bring the field to green with last week’s winner Chandler Smtih alongside for an all Kyle Busch Motorsports front row.

Stages one and two of the race are 30 laps each with stage three lasting 74 laps for a total of 134 laps around the mile and a half track. There will be no competition caution for tonight’s race.
It may be to sun set, but the temperatures in Las Vegas are above 90 degrees which means a hot night of racing for the Truck Series drivers.
Cup Series driver Kurt Busch joins Vince Welch and Michael Waltrip in the FOX broadcast booth for tonight’s race.
Dylan Lupton started the race from the back of the field after the crew made some unapproved adjustments to the truck and Keith McGee started from the rear of the field after a driver change.

Lap four, John Hunter Nemechek pulls out to a half seocnd lead on Todd Gilliland.
Lap five, Chris Hacker brings out the first caution flag of the race when he spins out and hits the wall.
John Hunter Nemechek brings the field down for the green flag restart from the outside field on lap nine with Todd Gilliland on the inside lane. Nemechek gets out in front for the lead with Todd Gilliland in second. Chandler Smith passes Gilliland for second.

Drivers are getting three and four wide across the track in a battle for position.
Eighteen year old Carson Hocevar is the only playoff driver who has yet to win a Truck Series race.
Lap 13, John Hunter Nemechek holds on to the lead with Todd Gilliland in second; Chandler Smith, Ben Rhodes, and Zane Smith round out the top five.
There are 35 trucks on the lead lap with all 37 starters still on the track.
Lap 16, Todd Gilliland is less than half a second behind John Hunter Nemechek; third place driver Chandler Smith is over a second back.
Lap 18, John Hunter Nemechek has pulled out to a near one second lead on Todd Gilliland. Fifth place driver Zane Smith is over five seconds back.
Lap 21, Stewart Friesen has passed Zane Smith for fifth.
Lap 24, Todd Gilliland has closed the gap on leader John Hunter Nemechek to less than half a second.
There are 29 trucks on the lead lap. Chris Hacker is out of the race.
Lap 26, Matt Crafton is the only playoff driver not in the top 10 at 13th.
Lap 28, Todd Gilliland has caught up to leader John Hunter Nemechek but has not been able to pass him.

Todd Gilliland brings the field down for the green flag start of stage two from the outside lane on lap 37 but it is John Hunter Nemechek who edges out in front with a push from Stewart Friesen.
Sheldon Creed bumps Stewart Friesen and Friesen takes the lead.
Lap 38, Todd Gilliland passes Stewart Friesen for the lead.
Drivers are four wide across the track.
Zane Smith has a flat tire. He keeps it off of the wall but the tire is shredding on the track. Smith does not make it to pit road. The third caution flag comes out on lap 40. Zane Smith goes one lap down and reports no power in the truck.
John Hunter Nemechek has a tire rub.
Lap 41, under caution, the top five are Todd Gilliland, Ben Rhodes, Stewart Friesen, Sheldon Creed, and Christian Eckes. John Hunter Nemechek is in sixth place.
Matt Crafton is reporting some temperature issues.
Todd Gilliland brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 46 but it is Ben Rhodes who jumps out in front for the lead.

With eight laps remaining in stage two, John Hunter Nemechek gets stalled on the track and brings out the caution flag. He reports that he has power to the gauges but no firing power.
Drivers come down pit road for service with seven laps remaining in stage two. But some drivers stay out on the track.
With 29 trucks on the lead lap; Zane Smith is 15 laps down and John Hunter Nemechek is two laps down.

Drivers come down pit road for service. Todd Gilliland wins the race off of pit road, but Carson Hocevar stayed out on the track and will bring the field to green.
Carson Hocevar brings the field down for the green flag start of stage three on lap 66 and gets out in front after a push from Austin Hill.
The top five are Carson Hocevar, Austin Hill, Tanner Gray, Tyler Ankrum, and Austin Wayne Self. Todd Gilliland in eighth is the first driver on fresher tires.
With 66 laps remaining in the race, there are 30 trucks on the lead lap.
Sheldon Creed scrapes the wall but the track stays green.
Lap 70, Austin Hill and Carson Hocevar battle for the lead.
A big crash brings out the caution flag with Sheldon Creed’s truck on fire. Creed gets out of the truck and goes to check on Chandler Smith who was also involved. Hailie Deegan, Chase Purdy, and Tyler Ankrum were also involved. Tyler Ankrum gets loose and into the wall. Chandler Smith tries to pass on the outside and hits the wall sending him down the track where Sheldon Creed slams into Smith on the driver’s side.
Playoff drivers Sheldon Creed and Chandler Smith are out of the race.
John Hunter Nemechek continues to have electrical gremlins; reporting that the truck just shuts itself off.
With 57 laps remaining in the race, Austin Hill brigns the field down for the green flag restart and gets out in front for the lead.
The top five are Austin Hill, Tanner Gray, Todd Gilliland, Carson Hocevar, and Johnny Sauter.
John Hunter Nemechek loses power once again. NASCAR tells him to get off the track so that the race can stay green. Nemechek does not make it back to pit road and the caution flag comes out with 54 laps remaining in the race.
Leaders come down pit road for service. Drivers are now within their pit window to make it to the end of the race on a single load of fuel. Taking fuel only, Brett Moffitt wins the race off of pit road.

Tyler Ankrum is out of the infield care center and is fine. He apologized to team mate Sheldon Creed who is one of the eight playoff drivers and is now out of the race due to the wreck.
Forty to go, Todd Gilliland leads the race with Christian Eckes in second; Austin Hill, Brett Moffitt, and Stewart Friesen rounding out the top five. Stewart Friesen is the only top five driver in the playoffs.

Sheldon Creed is out of the infield care center; Sheldon reports that he is ok; adding that Talladega is going to be interesting…and fun.
Lap 102, Todd Gilliland has increased his lead to nearly two seconds on Christian Eckes; Stewart Friesen, Johnny Sauter, and Matt Crafton round out the top five.
Thirty to go, Todd Gilliland’s lead is down to just one second on Christian Eckes.
With 27 laps to go, Todd Gilliland has led the most laps so far with 44.
Twenty-five to go, Todd Gilliland has a lead of over a second and a half on Christian Eckes; Stewart Friesen, Johnny Sauter, and Matt Crafton round out the top five.
There are only 18 trucks on the lead lap with 22 laps remaining in the race.
Drew Dollar spins out after some on track contact with Jack Wood and brings out the caution flag with 21 laps to go.

The caution flag comes out when Tyler Hill gets into the wall with Christian Eckes taking the checkered flag for his first career win.
