This season the singers perform before a live audience.

Then Kelly Clarkson and Arian Grande take the stage asking for a little “Respect”.
The guys return to the stage for a performance by all four coaches before the competition begins.
The Blind Auditions begin with a trio that has Kelly turning her chair right away. John doesn’t wait long to join Kelly. After a bit of a wait, Blake and Ariana make it a four chair turn. Girl Named Tom is a family group. Kelly said that she really wanted to work with them. Blake said that he would be proud to represent them. Ariana loved the tight knit harmonies. John noted he loved what could happen when harmony is down right. The trio decided to be the first members of Team Kelly.
Katie Rae has been singing most of her life but didn’t sing before an audience until she was 30. She chose the Maren Morris song “Bones” for her audition. John and Kelly were quick to turn their chairs with Ariana following shortly behind. Country boy Blake Shelton did not turn his chair. Ariana loved Katie’s voice. John said that he loved a powerful woman; adding that it would be an honour to work with her. Ariana tried to interrupt John by playing a piece of her music. Kelly noted that a lot of people can sing but not many people can move you. Katie chose Ariana to be her coach. Ariana has a lunch box filled with teas and other such goodies for her singers this season. Blake noted that he didn’t turn his chair because Katie wasn’t quite what he was looking for.
John was quick to push his button the the “Heatbreak Hotel” singer with Blake right behind him. The Elvis look alike had John out of his chair dancing. Kelly said that Peedy Chavis was adorable. Blake said it had him fired up. Blake noted that the song was introduction to Elvis. John noted that he turned his chair because Peedy sang his butt off; adding that he would love to bring the older music to a new generation. Peedy chose Blake to be his coach.
LA native Johnathan Mouton comes from a musical family; his mom was a backup singer for Stevie Wonder. A professional singer, Jonathan was diagnosed with cancer in 2014. Five years cancer free, Jonathan performs on “The Voice” stage and had to wait for a bit before John turned his chair. Saying that she had to, Ariana turned her chair while John was dancing to Jonathan’s performance of “Leave the Door Open”. Ariana noted that Jonathan has so much control. John called the performance so silky; adding that he would have so much fun working with Jonathan. Kelly called Jonathan an incredible artist. Jonathan chose John to be his coach.
Marco Salvador calls Miami home but was born in Venezuela. His grandfather was a big singer in Venezuela. The 15 year old chose an Enrique Iglasies song for his audition that was in English and Spanish. But he failed to turn any chairs. Blake noted that there were some great moments in the song. Kelly noted that he was incredible for 15.
Katherine Ann Mohler won an A Cappella contest in high school. Katherine had to wait until her final noted before Ariana and Blake pushed their buttons. Ariana noted that she could tell Katherine was nervous but had a wonderful voice. Kelly and John ganged up on Blake to help Ariana. Katherine chose Ariana as her coach; a person she has been obsessed with.
Jack Rogan calls Rochester, New York home and while he has performed before friends and family, his blind audition will be his first big performance. Playing his guitar, Jack sang “House of the Rising Sun” and got Kelly and John to turn their charis quickly. Ariana said that she was waiting to be moved just a bit more. John said that the beauty of his tone is what made him turn the chair; adding that it was an enjoyable performance. Kelly said that she loves Jack’s voice; adding that he got better and better. Jack chose John to be his coach. No songs this year, John has boxing robes for his members.
Kinsey Rose got Kelly’s attention quickly…and there was a block as well. Kelly blcoked Blake. Kinsey got the chance to perform with her idol Vince Gill. Kelly has jackets for her team members.
Vaughn Mugol was born in the Philippines and is carrying on the family tradition as a registered nurse. He uses his singing abilities to help comfort his patients. Again John and Kelly pushed their buttons together; Ariana joined them shortly thereafter. Ariana called the performance beautiful. John didn’t believe that Vaughn has no performance experience. Kelly noted that Vaughn is an emotional singer. Noting that he was going to take a leap of faith, Vaughn chose Ariana to be his coach.
Gracie Nourbash failed to impress any of the coaches enough to turn their chairs. Kelly noted that Gracie had amazing range. Gracie brought some photos of her and Ariana taken six years ago.
In the final audition of the night, Wendy Moten has toured with some of the biggest names in the business but calls her blind audition a scary thing. Blake didn’t wait long to turn his chair…and make a block. John and Ariana followed shortly to find that John was the blocked coach. Kelly made it a four chair turn. John said that Wendy’s voice is beyond…and phenomenal. Ariana said that she didn’t know where to start; adding that she is spectacular. Kelly said that Wendy is what the show is all about.
