The lug nut monster was very busy last weekend at the triple header event at Bristol Motor Speedway. A total of five teams were issued a penalty for having an improperly secured lug nut on their vehicle during the post race inspection process.

In the Camping World Truck Series the number 88 ThorSport Racing truck driven by Matt Crafton. Crew chief Carl “Junior” Joiner was fined $2,500 for the infraction.

In the Xfinity Series, the number seven JR Motorsports car driven by Justin Allgaier with Jason Burdett as crew chief and the number 18 Joe Gibbs Racing car driven by Daniel Hemric with Dave Rogers as crew chief were each fined $5,000 for having a single lug ut improperly secured.

In the Cup Series, the number 10 Stewart-Haas Racing car driven by Aric Almirola with Mike Bubarewic as crew chief and the number 19 Joe Gibbs Racing car driven by Martin Truex Jr and James Small as crew chief were also found to have a single lug nut improperly secured. As a result the two crew chiefs were fined $10,000 each for the infraction.
