During the race at Darlingtpn Raceway on September 5, Kyle Busch made contact with Austin Dillon before putting his number 18 M&M’s car into the wall.

When Busch took his car to the garage, out of the race, in his frustration he did not follow proper safety and speed protocols; running over several orange cones at speeds exceeding safety measures and in the vacinity of spectators. As a result, NASCAR officials have fined Busch $50,000 under the member conduct guidelines with “actions detrimental to stock car racing”.

Senior Vice President of Competition for NASCAR Scott Miller spoke on Busch and the penalty saying, “It was a situation that could have been bad. Fortunately nobody got hit or anything like that. It all worked out, but putting people in harm’s way for no reason is something we take seriously.”
