This past weekend at Daytona International Speedway, there was plenty of excitement on the track during both the Xfinity and Cup Series races with big pile ups and overtime finishes.

On Sunday several Cup Series drivers had to start the race from the back of the field due to pre-race inspection issues and after the race, NASCAR officials disqualified Chris Buescher’s second place finish after it was discovered that there was an illegal part on his car.

But when it came to issuing penalties, NASCAR handed out one penalty for a single lug nut infraction.

In the Xfinity Series the SS Green Light Racing number 17 car driven by JJ Yeley was found to have a single lug nut improperly secured. As a result, crew chief Jason Miller was fined $5,000.

In other penalty news, NASCAR has reinstated Michael Leoncini. The crew member is now eligible to return to his normal duties.
