When the Quaker State 400 in Atlanta Motor Speedway began, Kurt Busch was in 16th place – the last spot to move into the playoffs by just 25 points. After beating out brother Kyle and winning the race, Busch has cemented his spot in the playoffs when he became the 12th different race winner this season.
Tyler Reddick currently occupies the final spot in the playoffs.
Even with his 13th place finish, Denny Hamlin holds on to the points lead by 10 points over Kyle Larson with 836.
There are just five races remaining in the regular season.
In the manufacturer’s standings Chevrolet continues to lead with eleven wins and 782 points; Toyota has taken over the second place spot with 720 points with Ford in third with 718 points.
