This week the SRX Racing Series returns for a second week of good old fashioned Saturday night dirt track racing from Eldora Speedway.

The half mile track at Eldora has 24 degrees of banking in the corners.

After a random draw, Tony Kanaan sits on the pole and will bring the field down for the green flag.

The two heats are 12 minutes each with the field inverted for the second heat. And only green flag laps count for the feature event.

Tony Kanaan gets out in front for the lead. Willy T. Ribbs spins out but the track stays green.

The top five are Tony Kanaan, Helio Castroneves, Kody Swanson, Tony Stewart, and Bobby Labonte.

Kody Swanson is the local hero for this week.

Willy T. Ribbs brings the field down for the green flag start of heat number two and jumps out in front of Tony Kanaan for the lead.

At 66 years old, Willy T. Ribbs is the oldest driver in the field.

The caution flag comes out for a crash involving Tony Kanaan and Ernie Francis Jr that collects up Michael Waltrip and Tony Swanson. Tony Stewart gets turned around trying to avoid the melee.

Ernie Francis, Kody Swanson, and Michael Waltrip are on pit road for repairs.

Willy T Ribbs brings the field down for the green flag restart but the caution flag comes out again for a wreck involving Paul Tracy and Willy T Ribbs. Tony Stewart and Tony Kanaan spin out trying to avoid the wreck.

Scott Speed and Marco Andretti bring the field down for the green flag restart with just two and a half minutes remaining in the heat.

Scott Speed and Marco Andrett are door to door in a battle for the lead. Tony Stewart has moved up four spots to sixth place since the restart.

Lap seven, Paul Tracy has a lead of nearly half a second on Helio Castroneves. Tony Stewart have been unable to move up through the field and is mired back in eleventh place.

Lap 10, Tony Stewart (Smoke) is beginning to move through the field and is in ninth place.

Lap 12, Paul Tracy continues to lead the race with Helio Castroneves in second; Scott Speed, Marco Andretti, and Bobby Labonte round out the top five.

Lap 15, Tony Stewart moves up to eighth place.

Lap 16, the caution flag comes out.

The caution flag comes out with eight laps to go for debris on the track.

Bobby Labonte and Paul Tracy wreck and bring out the caution flag. Bill Elliott and Marco Andretti also have some damage to their cars.

Bill Elliott climbs out of his damaged car and is out of the race. Paul Tracy and Bobby Labonte are also on pit road but Marco Andrett stayed out on the track.

Tony Stewart brings the field down for the green flag restart with only five laps remaining in the race from the outside lane and battle with Kody Swanson for the lead with the two swapping it back and forth.
