In race two of a triple header weekend, it is a special day for the Xfinity Series when the teams pay tribute to military members on this Memorial Day weekend from Charlotte Motor Speedway and in the broadcast booth its a drivers only day where all of the broadcasters and reporters are NASCAR Cup Series drivers.
For this drivers only weekend, Brad Keselowski, Ricky Stenhouse Jr, and former crew chief Chad Knaus will be in the studio. Kevin Harvick leads the way in the broadcast booth with Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney alongside. And on pit road its Erik Jones and Christopher Bell.
Grant Enfinger was called in at the last minute to substitute for Brandon Gdovic.
Forty-three cars came to Charlotte, but only 36 will race in the Alsco Uniforms 300.
After the first round of single lap qualifying Riley Herbst puts his number 98 car on the pole with a time of 29.35 seconds.
Joe Graf Jr, Kyle Weatherman, Gray Gaulding, Kavid Starr, Bayley Currey, BJ McLeod, and Dillon Bassett all failed to qualify for the race.

After qualifying back in the pack, the JR Motorsports cars are beginning to move through the field. Justin Allgaier has moved up eight spots since the start of the race.
Lap 13, Daniel Hemric is the new leader with Riley Herbst nearly a second back; Chase Briscoe, Austin Cindric, and Ty Gibbs round out the top five.
All four of the JR Motorsports cars are in the top 20.
AJ Allmendinger is reporting a very loose condition in his car.

At the end of lap 20, NASCAR displays the yellow flag for the competition caution. Cody Ware gets into the wall.
With a limited number of tires many of the teams stayed out on the track.

In his first Xfinity Series race, subbing for Brandon Gdovic, Grant Enfinger gets into the wall after some on track contact; bringing out the caution flag.
Grant Enfinger’s car is on the tow truck and becomes the first driver out of the race.
Jeremy Clements made a pit stop for some adjustments after the splitter kept dragging the track.

Lap 57, Daniel Hemric continues to lead the race with AJ Allmendinger in second nearly half a second back; Noah Gragson Ty Gibbs, and Austin Cindric round out the top five.
Tyler Reddick was caught speeding during pit stops and had to restart the race from the back of the field. He has moved up several spots since the restart.
Lap 60, Daniel Hemric has increased his lead to over a second on AJ Allmendinger.

Myatt Snider is currently one lap down; the team reports that he is one cylinder down.

Drivers come down pit road for service; however, it is still too early to be able to finish the race on a single load of fuel. Chase Briscoe wins the race off of pit road. Daniel Hemric had a slow pit stop when he got boxed in his pit stall.

AJ Allmendinger is falling quickly through the field with some brake issues.

AJ Allmendinger brings his car down pit road saying that the brake rotor exploded. He takes his car ts. the garage for repairs. The team reports a very loose tire.
Lap 132, Chase Briscoe has pulled out to a lead of over a second on Austin Cindric; Harrison Burton, Ty Gibbs, and Noah Gragson round out the top five. There are 28 cars on the lead lap.
Lap 134, Chase Briscoe is nearly two seconds in front of Austin Cindric. Daniel Hemric has entered the top 10 after having to restart at the back of the field.
Lap 138, the top five are Chase Briscoe, Austin Cindric, Harrison Burton, Ty Gibbs, and Brandon Jones.
Lap 141, Chase Briscoe has increased his lead to over three seconds on Austin Cindric; Harrison Burton, Ty Gibbs, and Brandon Jones round out the top five.
Noah Gragson reports a possible tire issue.
The caution flag comes out on lap 145 for debris on the track. Jeffrey Earnhardt has a flapping bumper cover that will have to be repaired.
AJ Allmendinger is out of the race. He reports that it wasn’t a brake issue but a lug nut got stuck in the works.
Drivers come down pit road for service with Ryan Sieg winning the race off of pit road after taking fuel only. Brandon Brown also took fuel only.
Ryan Sieg brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 151 and battle with Chase Briscoe for the lead. Ryan Sieg gets loose and causes a big crash that brings out the caution flag. Josh Berry and Brett Moffitt were also involved. Ryan Sieg takes his car to the garage. At one point the rear wheels on Ryan Sieg’s car were in the air.
Josh Berry is out of the infield care center and reports that he is fine.
Chase Briscoe brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap from the inside lane with Ty Gibbs alongside on lap 160. After a side by side battle, Chase Briscoe edges out for the lead.
The top five are Chase Briscoe, Ty Gibbs, Harrison Burton, Austin Cindric, and Justin Haley. Daniel Hemric has moved up to seventh.
There are 27 cars on the lead lap.
Lap 164, Chase Briscoe holds on to a third of a second lead on Ty Gibbs; Harrison Burton, Austin Cindric, and Justin Haley round out the top five.
Lap 168, Chase Briscoe has increased his lead to half a second on Ty Gibbs; Harrison Burton, Austin Cindric, and Justin Haley round out the top five.
Lap 177, Ty Gibbs has closed the gap on leader Chase Briscoe to just a quarter of a second and is challenging for the lead.
Twenty to go, Chase Briscoe has a lead of less than a tenth of a second on Ty Gibbs; Harrison Burton, Austin Cindric, and Justin Haley round out the top five.
Chase Briscoe gets loose and spins out but keeps the car off the wall; bringing out the ninth caution flag of the race. Briscoe got loose in a battle for the lead.
Ty Gibbs is the new leader.
Chase Briscoe’s team has no more sticker tires and had to use the freshest set of scuffs.
Justin Allgaier brushed the wall and feels that something is broken in the rear of the car.
Brandon Brown came down pit road for a tire change; he was the only driver to have a set of sticker tires.
Ty Gibbs brings the field down for the green flag restart with team mate Harrison Burton alongside on the outside lane on lap 187. The drivers are three wide across the track. Ty Gibbs edges out to take the lead but a crash involving Justin Haley, Daniel Hemric, Brandon Jones, Noah Gragson, Tommy Joe Martins, and Michael Annett were all involved in the crash.
After dominating the first two stages of the race, Daniel Hemric’s car is on the tow truck and out of the race.

Ty Gibbs brings the field down for the green flag restart from the inside lane with just seven laps remaining in the race. Gibbs edges out Austin Cindric for the lead.

With a lead of over half a second 18 year old Ty Gibbs becomes the youngest winner ever at Charlotte Motor Speedway. This is Gibbs first oval track win in the Xfinity Series and his second win of the season after winning the road course race at Daytona. Ty Gibbs has finished in the top 10 in all six of the Xfinity Series races he has started this season. Before talking about his win, Ty Gibbs apologized to Chase Briscoe for helping his get loose.
