During the post-race inspection process after the Steakhouse Elite 200 on May 8 at Darlington Raceway, the NASCAR officials found an issue with the suspension system on the JR Motorsports number nine car driven by Noah Gragson.
As a result of the infraction, NASCAR disqualified the number nine car’s fourth place finish and winning the $100,000 Dash-4-Cash prize.
Gragson has won all of the three Dash-4-Cash races; but due to his disqualification, the money goes to AJ Allmendinger and Gragson loses out on an opportunity to race for the prize next week at Dover.
According to NASCAR, the number nine team violated rule number 20 in the NASCAR Rule Book which states, “all suspension mounts and mounting hardware must not allow movement or realignment of any suspension and/or drivetrain component beyond normal rotation or suspension and/or drivetrain travel.”
On Monday, May 10, JR Motorsports filed an appeal of the penalty.
