After the Dixie Vodka 400 at Homestead Miami Speedway on February 28, the NASCAR Cup Series has its third different driver in as many races to begin the 2021 racing season.

As expected driver points will fluctuate up and down depending on how they finish the races.

With the current format, NASCAR focuses on race wins with any driver who wins a race automatically earns a spot on the playoffs.  Currently Michael McDowell, Christopher Bell, and William Byron has all secured spots in the playoffs.

Three weeks into the season, Denny Hamlin holds on to his lead with 139 points despite not winning any races.

Christopher Bell has fallen out of the top five but holds on to a top 10 spot in seventh.  Ryan Preece falls out of the top 10.
