Veteran actor John Reilly died January 9, 2021 at the age of 84.

His daughter Caitlin announced Reilly’s death via social media but gave no details about the cause of death.

Reilly appeared in over 80 film and television productions but was best known to daytime drama fans for his role as WSB agent Sean Donely on the daytime drama “General Hospital” – a role he held for eleven years and 76 episodes.

He made is television debut in 1956 in an episode of the daytime drama “As the World Turns”.  He went on to appear in a wide variety of programs including “Gunsmoke”, “Kojak”, “The Mary Tyler Moore Show”, the original “Hawaii Five-O”, “How the West Was Won”, “The Incredible Hulk”, “The Love Boat”, Roy Ralston on six episodes of “Dallas”, “Newhart”, “Dynasty”, “Paper Dolls”, 20 episodes of “Iron Man”, Bill Taylor in eight episodes of “Beverly Hills 90210”,  “Mortal Kombat: Conquest”, Del Douglas in 22 episodes of “Sunset Beach”, Mike Armstrong in nine episodes of “Arli$$”, and Alistair Crane in 107 episodes of “Passions”.

He was born John Henry Matthew Reilly on November 11, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois.

Reilly is survived by his second wife Liz and three daughters.
