Amid all the tragedy and bad news, Linkin Park received some good news via the RIAA – Recording Industry Association of America – when the rockers debut album “Hybrid Theory” was certified 12 times platinum for selling 12 million copies in the U.S. The RIAA certifies an album with the Diamond Award when it has sold at least 10 million copies in the United States. Considered “the best-selling debut of the 21st century”, the album has sold 25 million copies around the world.
The news comes as Linkin Park is set to release a 20th anniversary edition of the album on October 9.
The anniversary package features the original album, demos, rarities, B-sides, and DVD’s with over an hour and a half of never before seen video.
The package will come in a Super Deluxe box, a vinyl box set, as a deluxe CD, and as a digital download.
