For the second time in less than 24 hours the Xfinity Series goes short track racing as they cap off a doubleheader at Richmond Raceway with the Richmond is for Racing Lovers 250.  This is the fourth doubleheader weekend for the Xfinity Series racers.

After running 250 laps under the lights, the drivers will race 250 laps under cloudy skies.

Setting the starting lineup for today’s race, NASCAR has inverted the top 15 drivers putting Tommy Joe Martins on the pole with Brandon Jones starting alongside on the front row.  Friday’s race winner Justin Allgaier will start today’s race in 14th place.

During the post-race inspection process after the race on Friday night, NASCAR officials found that the number 61 car driven by Chad Finchum failed the ride height requirements.  As a result of the infraction, Finchum’s 27th place finish was disqualified.  Finchum and the team lose any points earned during the race and is listed as the last place driver in the GoBowling 250.

NASCAR has also penalized the MBM Motorsports number 13 car driven by Stephen Leicht after they violated the NASCAR rule book when they dropped an axel on the track.  As a result, car chief Zach Gobble has been ejected from the track and will miss the race on Saturday.

Myatt Snider has to move to the back of the field in a backup car.

Stages one and two of the race are 75 laps each with stage three lasting 100 laps for a total of 250 laps around the ¾ mile track.

NBC Sports goes with an all driver broadcast team when Jeff Burton, Dale Jarrett, and Dale Earnhardt Jr join up to call the race.

Tommy Joe Martins brings the field down for the green flag start of the race and goes nose to nose the Brandon Jones as the drivers quickly get three wide across the track.  Brandon Jones takes the lead.

NASCAR has called for a competition caution on lap 40.

Lap four, the top five are Brandon Jones,, Chase Briscoe, Ryan Sieg, Kaz Grala, and Michael Annett.

Lap seven, Brandon Jones and Chase Briscoe battle for the lead but Jones holds on to the top spot.

Lap 10, Brandon Jones leads the race with Chase Briscoe in second and Kaz Grala in third; Ryan Sieg and Noah Gragson round out the top five.

Lap 14, Brandon Jones holds on to his third of a second lead on Chase Briscoe with Kaz Grala in third over half a second back.

Lap 17, Chase Briscoe passes Brandon Jones to take the lead; Kaz Grala, Noah Gragson, and Austin Cindric round out the top five.

Kaz Grala has taken second place form Brandon Jones with Chase Briscoe in the lead.

Lap 22, the top five are Chse Briscoe, Kaz Grala, Noah Gragson, Justin Haley, and Brandon Jones.

Lap 25, Noah Gragson and Kaz Grala battle for second place; swapping back and forth until Gragson takes the spot.

Lap 27, leader Chase Briscoe has encountered slower traffic and is beginning to lap cars; Timmy Hill is the first driver to go one lap down.

Lap 29, Noah Gragson challenges Chase Briscoe for the lead.  Lap 30, Noah Gragson takes the lead and continues to lap slower traffic.

Lap 31, the top five are Noah Gragson, Chase Briscoe, Kaz Grala, Justin Haley, and Austin Cindric.  Friday Race winner Justin Allgaier has moved from 15th to seventh.

Lap 34, Kaz Grala battles Chase Briscoe for second.  Justin Haley has joined the battle.

Drivers are getting three wide across the track in a battle for second.

Lap 37, Noah Gragson has a lead of nearly a second on Justin Haley; Chase Briscoe, Justin Allgaier, and Kaz Grala round out the top five.

Lap 40, Justin Allgaier passes Justin Haley for second with Noah Gragson nearly a second out in front with the lead.

At the end of lap 40, NASCAR puts out the yellow flag for the competition caution.

Noah Gragson brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 46 with team mate Justin Allgaier alongside.  Justin Allgaier takes the lead as drivers get three wide across the track.

Lap 47, Justin Allgaier is in the lead with Noah Gragson in second; Justin Haley, Chase Briscoe, and Ross Chastain round out the top five.

Lap 51, Justin Allgaier has a narrow lead on Noah Gragson with Justin Haley, Ross Chastain, and Chase Briscoe rounding out the top five.

Lap 55, Noah Gragson continues to challenge Justin Allgaier for the lead.

Lap 58, there are 29 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 64, Justin Allgaier has pulled out to a lead of over half a second on Noah Gragson; Justin Haley, Ross Chastain, and Michael Annett round out the top five.

Lap 68, Justin Allgaier holds on to a lead of over half a second on Nah Gragson; Justin Haley, Ross Chastain, and Michael Annett round out the top five with 30 cars on the lead lap.

Timmy Hill is off the track.

Austin Cindric is reporting a possible tire going down with four laps remaining in stage one.

Broadcaster Dale Earnardt Jr has four cars in the race; three of which are in the top five.  Broadcaster Jeff Burton has a son and a nephew in the race with Harrison and Jeb Burton.

The caution flag comes out on lap 140 after Colby Howard hits the wall.  Howard brought out a caution flag in Friday’s race for hitting the wall.

Lap 181, Justin Allgaier has increased his lead to two seconds on Jeb Burton.

If seventh place driver Austin Cindric finishes the race with a points lead of 61 points, he will clinch the regular season championship.

Lap 190, Justin Allgaier continues to pull away from the field and now has a lead of three seconds on Ross Chastain.  Colby Howard is out of the race with 19 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 197, Justin Allgaier now has a lead of over four seconds on Ross Chastain; Jeb Burton, Justin Haley, and Noah Gragson round out the top five.

Fifty to go, Justin Allgaier has pulled away from the field with a five second lead on Ross Chastain.  There are just 18 cars on the lead lap.

 Lap 208, leader Justin Allgaier is “driving it like he stole it” with a lead of nearly seven seconds on Ross Chastain with 16 cars on the lead lap.

The top five are Justin Allgaier, Ross Chastain, Jeb Burton, Justin Haley, and Noah Gragson.

Lap 215, Justin Allgaier is looking to make it a doubleheader sweep with a lead of over seven seconds on Ross Chastain.

Thirty to go, Justin Allgaier has an eight second lead on Ross Chastain.  Barring a caution or an issue with his car, it is Allgaier’s race to lose.

Twenty-five to go, Justin Allgaier’s lead is nearly nine seconds on Ross Chastain; Jeb Burton, Justin Haley ,and Harrison Burton round out the top five.  There are 14 cars on the lead lap.

Riley Herbst brings out the caution flag on lap 290 when he gets into the wall and erases a Justin Allgaier lead of over nine seconds.

Six to go, Justin Allgaier’s lead is now a second over Jeb Burton; Ross Chastain, Harrison Burton, nad Justin Haley round out the top five.

Harrison Burton is challenging Ross Chastain for third place.

With just two laps to go, the leaders have encountered heavy traffic.
