The Gander RV and Outdoors Truck Series kicks off a doubleheader weekend at Kansas Speedway with the Blu-Emu Maximum Pain relief 200 on a hot midwestern America night.

After a random draw based on truck owner points, Christian Eckes sits on the pole with Brett Moffitt starting alongside on the front row.

In honour of baseball season finally opening, Hall of Fame catcher Johnny Bench gave the command to start engines.

Stages one and two of the race are 30 lap shootouts with stage three lasting 74 laps for a total of 134 laps around the mile and a half track.

Teen driver Derek Kraus is passing up his high school graduation in order to race this weekend.

The caution flag comes out on lap 19 when Robby Lyons spins out and slides sideways down the track.

While tires were an issue for the NASCAR Cup Series drivers on Thursday night, tires are not an issue for the Truck Series drivers.
