Just a week after making history on the music charts in the United Kingdom, British rockers Queen set another chart record; this time in the United States.
The band’s 1981 “Greatest Hits” album has spent a total of over 900 weeks on the British music charts and now Billboard Magazine has announced that the album has spent 55 weeks (over a year) at the number one spot on the Billboard Catalog Albums chart.
The record puts Queen at number two on the all time list behind the Bob Marley and the Wailers album “Legend” who has spent a total of 129 weeks in the number one spot.
Creed’s “My Own Prison” previously held the second spot at 54 weeks but has been overtaken by Queen.
Album on the Catalog Albums chart have been out for at least 18 months and lists the most popular albums of the week. The chart only lists US sales.
