The Gander RV and Outdoors Truck Series continues the racing at Kentucky Speedway on July 11 with the Buckle Up in Your Truck 225.
After running both races in the Xfinity Series doubleheader on Thrusday and Friday, Brett Moffitt sits on the pole after a random draw and will bring the field to green.
The pre-race inspection process caused some issues for three of the truck teams when the number 13 ThorSport Racing truck driven by Johnny Sauter, the number 19 McAnally-Hilgemann Racing truck driven by Derek Kraus, and the number 99 ThorSport truck driven by Ben Rhodes all failed the inspection process multiple times. As a result of the infractions, each team will be docked 10 truck owner points, the driver will be docked 10 points in the standings, and they will all have to start the race from the back of the field. All three drivers drew positions in the top 20 of the 40 truck field.
Trey Hutchins will have to start the race from the back of the field after the team made some unapproved adjustments and Ray Ciccarelli missed the driver’s meeting and will be starting the race from the back of the field.
Stages one and two of the race are 35 laps each with stage three lasting 80 laps for a total of 150 laps around the mile and a half track.
Brett Moffitt brings the field down for the green flag start of the race from the outside lane and after a push Brett Moffitt gets out in front for the lead.
The caution flag comes out on lap one after Spencer Boyd drops fluid on the track from his smoking truck.
Johnny Sauter had to make an unscheduled pit stop for a splitter issue. The team was charged with the crew coming over the wall too soon and Sauter will have to serve a penalty.
Brett Moffitt brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap eight with Sheldon Creed taking the lead briefly before Brett Moffitt retakes the top spot.
Lap nine, teenager Christian Eckes challenges Brett Moffitt for the lead but Moffitt holds him off.
Lap 10, the top five are Brett Moffitt, Zane Smith, Sheldon Creed, Tyler Ankrum, and Christian Eckes.
Lap 14, Brett Moffitt has a half second lead on Zane Smith as the drivers get three and four wide. Codie Rohrbaugh gets loose and brings out the second caution flag of the race when he gets into the wall. Rohrbaugh was in the middle of a three wide battle. Rohrbaugh walks away from his truck safely.
Brett Moffitt brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 18 but it is Zane Smith who initially gets out in front after a push. Moffitt takes the lead and begins to pull out in front. He has led every lap so far.
Timothy Viens spins out and makes an off road excursion through the grass bringing out the third caution flag of the race.
Ryan Truex has some damage to the back of his truck.
Some drivers came down pit road for service.
Brett Moffitt brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 26 and goes nose to nose with Zane Smith before Zane Smith puts a slide job on Moffitt and takes the lead.
The top five are Zane Smith, Brett Moffitt, Christian Eckes, Sheldon Creed, and Tyler Ankrum.
Ryan Truex’s truck is smoking and has to bring his truck down pit road after making contact with Cory Roper.
Lap 31, there are 31 trucks on the lead lap. Codie Rohrbaugh is out of the race and Norm Benning is off the track.
Lap 33, Zane Smith and Brett Moffitt battle for the lead with the two going side by side. Lap 34, Zane Smith gets out in front for the lead.
Zane Smith wins stage one for his first stage win of the season.

One of the five drivers who had to start the race from the back of the field, Derek Kraus finishes stage one in the stop 10.
Drivers come down pit road for service. Taking only two tires, Zane Smith wins the race of of pit road. Johnny Sauter also took only two tires.
Brett Moffitt was charged with a safety violation.
After staying out on the track, Parker Kligerman brings the field down for the green flag start of stage two with Matt Crafton alongside. Drivers are getting three and four wide across the track.
Parker Kligerman takes the lead with Ben Rhodes in second; Zane Smith, Sheldon Creed, and Matt Crafton round out the top five.
Bryant Barnhaill brings out the fifth caution flag of the race on lap 43 when he gets turned around on the track with a flat tire.
Chandler Smith and Stewart Friesen make contact on the track; Smith has to come down pit road for repairs.
Parker Kligerman brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 47 with Ben Rhodes getting out in front.
The caution flag comes out when Jennifer Jo Cobb and Korbin Forrister get into a wreck. Ther is significant damage to Cobb’s truck.
Several of the teams have been talking on the radio about rain in the area. The race is considered official once it reaches the end of stage two or halfway.
Ben Rhodes brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 52 and edges out for the lead before Sheldon Creed enters the battle and takes the elad.
The top five are Sheldon Creed, Ben Rhodes, Zane Smith, Matt Crafton, and Johnny Sauter.
Lap 55, Sheldon Creed has a half second lead on Ben Rhodes with Zane Smith, Matt Crafton, and Johnny Sauter rounding out the top five.
Lap 58, Sheldon Creed has a lead of over half a second on Ben Rhodes with Zane Smith in third over three seconds back; Matt Crafton and Johnny Sauter round out the top five.
FOX Sports broadcasters report that there is rain in the area.
Lap 65, Sheldon Creed has pulled out to a lead of over half a second on Ben Rhodes; over seven seconds back Zane Smith, Matt Crafton, and Johnny Sauter round out the top five.
Sheldon Creed wins stage two for his third stage win of the season.

The rain is eminent, it is just a matter of how long before it arrives. The FOX Sports camera crew has come down from their camera positions. FOX is using only the drone and robo cams.
NASCAR has red flagged the race for lightening in the area. The trucks have been brought down pit road and parked and covered up.
With the race halted after 71 laps – the end of stage two – due to lightening and rain, Sheldon Creed is the winner of the race for his first career Truck Series win.
