On July 8, NASCAR released the schedule for the remainder of the 2020 regular season. The schedule features more doubleheaders and road course races with two stops at Daytona International Speedway in August.
Each year dozens of teams gather at Daytona for the annual Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona. Occasionally, some of those teams have included NASCAR Cup Series drivers including Dale Earnhardt Jr and Jeff Gordon – who has a Rolex to prove it. In August the NASCAR Cup Series will take to the famous road course that includes part of the high banked oval. The Daytona road course will replace the road course race at Watkins Glen in central New York.
Which tracks, if any, will allow fans in the stands will be determined on a race by race basis based on local ordinances and health guidelines.
