After the historic weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway that saw both IndyCar and NASCAR races held on the same weekend and an Xfinity Series race that held the first road course race at the legendary track.

On July 7, NASCAR issued two penalties to teams in the Xfinity Series; one that resulted in a suspension.

The Penske Racing number 22 car driven by Austin Cindric was found to have an unsecured lug nut during the post race inspection process.  As a result of the infraction, crew chief Brian Wilson has been fined $5,000.

Tommy Joe Martins is the driver for the Martins Motorsports number 44 car.  During the race, Martins brought out one of the several caution flags when the rear axle became dislodged from the car.  Ensuring that the rear axle is properly secured is a part of the NASCAR rule book.   As a result, crew chief for the number 44 car, Daniel Johnson has been suspended for the next points race.  The Xfinity Series will next race at Kentucky Speedway this weekend.
