Saturday Night Thunder and iRacing travel this week to Dover, Delaware and the Monster Mile for a battle on the virtual concrete.

Nearly 50 drivers have signed up looking for a battle on the Monster Mile.  After two laps of single car qualifying, there will four 10 lap heat races and a 15 lap Last Chance Qualifier race before the 125 lap main event.  Some half of the field will be sent home with only 26 drivers in the main event.

This week the drivers will not have the advantage of the reset or quick repair function to repair any crash damage during the race.  Nor will there be any caution flags during the heat races.

In heat race number one, Josh Berry will sit one the pole and bring the field down for the green flag.

Anthony Alfredo leads every lap to win the second heat and a spot in the main event.  Raphael Lessard, Donny Lia, Chase Briscoe, Tommy Joe Martins, and Will Rodgers are also moving on to the main event.

In heat three, Ty Majeski sits on the pole with Alex Labbe starting alongside on the front row.

Blake Koch and Myatt Snider crash on lap one and are out of the race.

Halfway, Ty Majeskit leads the way with Alex Labbe in second and Christian Eckes in third.

Again after leading every lap, Ty Majeski wins the heat and moves on to the main event.  Alex Labbe, Christian Eckes, Noah Gragson, Ryan Vargas, and Ryan Truex are also moving on to the main event.

In the final heat race, Bayley Currey sits on the pole with Landon Hoffman starting alongside on the front row.

Bayley Currey brings the field down for the green flag start of the race with Bayley Currey jumping out in front for the lead.  Contact on the track between Brett Moffitt and Jeffrey Earnhardt make contact and send Earnhardt into the wall.

Gus Dean and Spencer Boyd also make contact on lap two.

Bayley Currey continues to lead the race; he is the third pole sitter to get out in front for the lead.

Halfway, Bayley Currey is in the lead but the top four drivers are separated by only half a second.

For the first time tonight, there is a new leader in the race with Kaz Grala taking the lead after Bayley gets into the wall and falls to fifth place.

Kaz Grala wins the race with Landon Hoffman in second; Todd Gilliland, Derek Kraus, Tyler Ankrum, and Bayley Currey will also move on to the main event.

Sam Mayer with Thad Moffitt make up the front row for the first of two Last Chance Qualifer races.  Only the race winners will move on to the main event.

Mayer leads the first of 15 laps as drivers get very aggressive with plenty of beating and banging for position.

Matt Mills gets into the wall.

Five to go, Sam Mayer continues to lead the race with only five cars on the lead lap.

Three to go, Sam Mayer has pulled out to a lead of two seconds on Harrison Burton.

After taking the white flag and leading every lap, Sam Mayer wins the first of two LCQ races and will move on to the main event.

For LCQ number two, Scott Stenzel sits on the pole and will bring the field to the green flag.

Halfway, Brett Moffitt has a half second lead on Ryan Ellis.

With four laps to go, Brett Moffit has a second lead on Ryan Ellis with seven cars on the lead lap.

Brett Moffitt wins the race and will be the final driver into the main event.

In the feature race, the top 10 drivers will be inverted with Donny Lia and Stephen Leicht sitting on the front row.

There will be caution flag during the main race.

Over the past several days, iRacing has been updating the tracks and including the safer barriers that were added to the tracks in recent years.

Lap eight, Donny Lia holds on to a narrow lead on Landon Hoffman.

Like the real Monster Mile, tire wear is an issue for the iRacing drivers.  Saving tires will be a big issue during the race.

The drivers will have to make a pit stop during the race.

Lap 16, Donny Lia continues to lead the rce with Landon Huffman in second.

Twenty laps into the race the caution flag comes out after a crash involving Tyler Ankrum; Tommy Joe Martins and Ryan Vargas were also among those who were involved in the wreck.

Most of the leaders stay out on the track but a few drivers come down pit road for service.  There are 16 drivers on the lead lap.

Halfway, Donny Lia leads the way with Anthony Alfredo in second; Raphael Lessard, Alex Labbe, and Landon Huffman round out the top five.

Anthony Alfredo and Raphael Lessard battle it out for second place with Lessard taking the spot with 58 laps remaining in the race.

With 54 laps remaining in the race, Donny Lia has a lead of over a second on Raphael Lessard with 13 cars on the lead lap.

Alex Labbe is the first driver down pit road for fresh tires and fuel on lap 77.  The drivers can make it to the end of the race from this point.

With 41 laps to go, Chase Cabre takes the lead when Raphael Lessard comes down pit road.

Kaz Grala is the new leader.  Still needing to make his pit stop, Grala is the only driver on the lead lap.

Donnie Lia was caught speeding on pit road and had to serve a penalty.

Driving on worn out tires, Kaz Grala’s speeds are slowing down; allowing other drivers to unlap themselves.  There are now seven cars on the lead lap.

Alex Labbe is the new leader with Anthony Alfredo in second over a second back.  There are eight cars on the lead lap.

Kaz Grala comes back out on the track in tenth place, one lap down.

Twenty to go, Anthony Alfredo has closed the gap to leader Alex Labbe to less than a second.

With 17 laps to go, Anthony Alfredo has closed the gap on leader Alex Labbe to under half a second.  Labbe’s tires are six laps older than Alfredo’s tires.

Thirteen to go, Anthony Alfredo has caught up to leader Alex Labbe; the two battle for the lead.

With 12 laps remaining in the race, Anthony Alfred takes the lead but Alex Labbe comes up to challenge for the lead.

Ten to go with Anthony Alfredo in the lead; Alex Labbe, Landon Huffman, Raphael Lessard, and Chase Cabre rounding out the top five.  After leading most of the race, Donny Liahas falled to eleventh place, one lap down.
