Saturday Night Thunder and iRacing travel this week to Dover, Delaware and the Monster Mile for a battle on the virtual concrete.
Nearly 50 drivers have signed up looking for a battle on the Monster Mile. After two laps of single car qualifying, there will four 10 lap heat races and a 15 lap Last Chance Qualifier race before the 125 lap main event. Some half of the field will be sent home with only 26 drivers in the main event.
This week the drivers will not have the advantage of the reset or quick repair function to repair any crash damage during the race. Nor will there be any caution flags during the heat races.
In heat race number one, Josh Berry will sit one the pole and bring the field down for the green flag.

Again after leading every lap, Ty Majeski wins the heat and moves on to the main event. Alex Labbe, Christian Eckes, Noah Gragson, Ryan Vargas, and Ryan Truex are also moving on to the main event.
In the final heat race, Bayley Currey sits on the pole with Landon Hoffman starting alongside on the front row.

Gus Dean and Spencer Boyd also make contact on lap two.

For the first time tonight, there is a new leader in the race with Kaz Grala taking the lead after Bayley gets into the wall and falls to fifth place.

Sam Mayer with Thad Moffitt make up the front row for the first of two Last Chance Qualifer races. Only the race winners will move on to the main event.

For LCQ number two, Scott Stenzel sits on the pole and will bring the field to the green flag.

Brett Moffitt wins the race and will be the final driver into the main event.
In the feature race, the top 10 drivers will be inverted with Donny Lia and Stephen Leicht sitting on the front row.

Over the past several days, iRacing has been updating the tracks and including the safer barriers that were added to the tracks in recent years.

Like the real Monster Mile, tire wear is an issue for the iRacing drivers. Saving tires will be a big issue during the race.
The drivers will have to make a pit stop during the race.

Twenty laps into the race the caution flag comes out after a crash involving Tyler Ankrum; Tommy Joe Martins and Ryan Vargas were also among those who were involved in the wreck.
