New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski retired from playing the game of football two years ago in 2018. Since his retirement, Gronk has dabbled in professional wrestling and was in the costume of the White Tiger on season two of the “Masked Singer”.

On April 21 Gronkowski announced that he is coming out of retirement to play once again…but not with his old team the Patriots.

Reports are that The Pats will be trading Gronkowski to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where he will be reunited with his former quarterback Tom Brady.

The Patriots are trading Gronk plus a seventh-round draft pick in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick in the 2020 College draft taking place this week beginning April 23.

The 30 year old Gronkowski has a one year deal with the Buccaneers for $10 million.

This is not the first time such a deal has been struck; In 2018 Marshawn Lynch was traded from the Seattle Seahawks to the then Oakland Raiders plus a fifth round draft pick, the Raiders got a sixth round draft pick.

During his nine seasons with the Patriots, Gronkowski earned three Super Bowl rings, 79 touchdowns, and caught 521 passes for a total of 7,861 yards. He also was elected to four Pro Bowls and had three 1,000 yard seasons.
