It’s week tow of the battle rounds on “The Voice”. After the first week, three of the four coaches has two singers on their teams with Kelly having just one singer on her team. Blake and Nick have saved a singer to compete in the save knockout battle.
Up first is team Blake and Bebe Rexha with Jacob Daniel Murphy and Toneisha Harris singing “Good as Hell” by Lizzo. John noted that the duo could really sing. Nick was shocked that Blake knew the song; Kelly added that it had to be a Gwen thing…it was. Jacob and Toneisha had Kelly on her feet dancing; adding it was one of her favourite battles. Blake said that it was a great musical moment. Blake chose Toneisha as the winner of the battle.
Kelly brought in Dua Lipa to help mentor her team. Kelly put Gigi Hess and Micah Iverson for a battle of “Someone You Loved”. The duo made Kelly cry during stage rehearsals. Blake said that every time he thought he knew who won, the other singer came in. John called it a heartfelt performance. Noting that it was a tough song to sing, Nick said that both singers were talented with a lot of potential. Saying that it is the hardest, Kelly chose Micah as the winner of the battle.
John Legend, with mentor Ella Mai, put Mandi Castillo and Cammwess together for a battle of “Seniorita”. The duo had John on his feet yelling beautiful. Nick was impressed with the performance. Kelly, who was up dancing, loved the performance. Blake was impressed with both singers. John called them both fantastic singers. John said that Cam reminds him of himself. Saying that he is back and forth on who he wants to pick, John chose Mandi as the winner of the battle. Kelly stole Cammwess.
Blake paired up Kailey Abel and Cam Spinks for a battle of “What If’s” by Kane Brown and Lauren Alaina. John called the performance fun. Nick called the performance special to watch. Noting that the song was out of their wheelhouse,Blake called it a great performance. Blake chose Cam as the winner of the battle.
Nick brought in his brothers to mentor his team members. He paired Tate Brusa and Anders Drerup for a battle of “Circles” by Post Malone. Kelly liked the guys singing solo but didn’t really care for them together. Blake and John agreed. Nick said that both guys were great; agreeing that the show isn’t about making a duo. Saying that it is a tough decision, Nick chose Tate as the winner of the battle.
In the last battle of the night, John has paired Darious Lyles and Nelson Cade III for a battle of “Come Together” by The Beatles. Nick called it a phenomenal performance; adding that he was impressed with it. Kelly said that they made the performance interesting and fun. Blake noted that both guys are similar. John called it one of the most entertaining performances; adding that it was fantastic. John chose Darious as the winner of the battle. As Nelson was walking off the stage, John pushed his button to save Nelson.
