For over 50 years the Irish music band The Chieftains have been entertaining audiences the world over. The six time Grammy Award winners have revived traditional Irish music and made it “cool” once again.

Since 1962 the Irish band was the first western musicians to perform at the Great Wall of Chine, played with Roger Waters on “The Wall” in Berlin, was the first ensemble to give a performance at the Capitol Building in Washington DC, performed before Pope John Paul II, and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and were presented with the inaugural National Concert Hall Lifetime Achievement Award. Two of the band member’s instruments even made it into space when Cady Coleman took them with her to the International Space Station.

The Chieftains have announced one final tour before they retire after 57 years of entertaining fans.
