This season Ross Chastain has raced in everything he could get his hands on from the Gander Outdoors Truck Series to the Monster Energy Cup Series.

This week, Chastain learned that he has a full time ride next year in the Xfinity Series when Kaulig Racing announced that they were expanding their racing team to two cars. “The Watermelon Man” – his family are multi generation watermelon farmers – will be team mates with Justin Haley.

The product of 12 generations of watermelon farmers in Florida, Chastain marks his race wins by smashing a watermelon, a la Gallagher, at the start/finish line and again in victory lane.

Chastain will be driving the number 10 car with Nutrien Ag Solutions as the primary sponsor.

Ross Chastain has it all – he’s competitive, he’s marketable, he’s all-around a great, blue-collar guy“Ross Chastain has it all – he’s competitive, he’s marketable, he’s all-around a great, blue-collar guy. As a team, we couldn’t be more honored to land a driver like Ross. In just four races already this season, he’s not only helped advance our program, but he brought home this team’s very first win (the July race at Daytona). Having him at Kaulig Racing next season, driving full-time, is a great gain for our organization.”

Speaking on his new venture Chastain said, “two of the most important things in my life are agriculture and racing. Nutrien Ag Solutions is the best sponsor I could have ever asked for as it pertains to my family’s long history of farming. Matt (Kaulig), Chris (Rice) and all of Kaulig Racing gave me the opportunity to race this year when I really wasn’t sure I would ever get another winning opportunity in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. And, we won. Now, next year, we get to try to win more races and also compete for the championship.”
