The Niagara Falls International Film Festival returns for its second annual event on September 18-21 with a gala opening event and awards presentation, 27 full feature films, and 44 short films.

The festivities kick off on the evening of Sept 18 with a red carpet gala at the historic Rapids Theatre. The gala will celebrate filmmaker Samuel Fuller with the presentation of the Icon of Industry Award and a star on the Niagara Falls Walk of Fame. A posthumous presentation, the awards will be presented to Fuller’s wife and daughter – Christa and Samantha Fuller. The festival will feature a number of Fuller’s works throughout the event including the WWII film “The Big Red One” on closing night.

The opening gala events will also feature the presentation of the Legacy Award and a star on the Niagara Falls Walk of Fame to award winning actor Louis Gossett Jr. Gossett’s film “The Reason” will be aired during the NFIFF.

Opening night festivities also include musical performance from “The Voice” top 10 finalist Mikaela Astel.

Actors and filmmaker’s Robert Carradine, Perry Lang, Kelly Ward, and Bobby Di Ciccio, Xander Berkeley, Jackson Rathbone, Max Martini, Matt Shapira, and Brian Thomas Smith are all scheduled to appear at the festival with their films and on panels.

Maxim Cover Girl Janel Tanna will serve as the first Ambassador of Film at this year’s NFIFF.

Among the numerous films being screened during the festival are “Big Muddy”, “The Reason”, “Two Ways Home”, “The Wall of Mexico”, “Shock Corridor”, “Hell and High Water”, “The Naked Kiss”, a documentary about Samuel Fuller “A Fuller Life”, “The Big Red One”, “China Gate”, “Power of the Press”, and “The Steel Helmet”.
