Some of the biggest comic book heroes jump off the page for a visit to The Strong Museum of Play next month for a weekend of action packed events to launch a new exhibit.
“DC Super Heroes: Discover Your Superpowers” opens September 28 and runs through January 19, 2020.
The opening weekend celebration includes characters on hand to pose for photos, visitors dressing up as their favourite super hero. LEGO creations by the Rochester LEGO Users Group, practicing super hero skills, and craft projects including making a shield.
The interactive exhibit features a Hall of Justice – the headquarters – where visitors can answer calls and help to “save the day” from villains causing trouble, check out Gotham City to solve puzzles and solve clues, S.T.A.R. Labs where visitors can test their super skills, in The Docks visitors can test their physical skills like balance and leaping, and visit the Museum of Ancient History to help recover stolen artifacts.
Opening weekend events are from 11am to 4pm on September 28 and 1pm to 4pm on September 29.
Located in Rochester, New York; The Strong is open seven days a week – Monday-Thursday from 10am to 5pm, Friday and Saturday from 10am to 8pm, and Sunday from noon to 5pm.
Admission to The Strong $16 for anyone over the age of two, it is free to members and children under the age of two. Admission to the Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden requires an additional charge of $4 for members, $5 for non members, and free for children under the age of two.
