Niagara Falls is known for its thundering waters as the tumble over the 180 foot cliff into the Niagara River below.

On August 3 and 4, the area will be known for another thundering sound when over 70 racing teams from across North America take to the Niagara River for two days of racing with Thunder on the Niagara.

Gratwick Riverside Park in North Tonawanda – located just south of Niagara Falls – will host the event for the 14th year.

NASCAR fans routinely see drivers run speeds of 150 to 200 miles around the track each week, when “the fastest show on water” takes to the Niagara River, racing fans will see boats racing at similar speeds.

Along with a prime spot for watching the races, Gratwick Park will feature a kid’s zone, a car show, vendors, and fireworks to close out the evening on Saturday. The awards will be presented around 6pm on Sunday evening.

Attendance to the event itself and Gratwick Park are free but parking will be $10. Portions of the proceeds from the parking fees will go to the Twin Cities Community Outreach.

VIP admission tickets are available for $75 per person and include a private covered viewing area and free food and beverages.
