After the races at Talladega Superspeedway last weekend, NASCAR has issued two penalties to teams in the Monster Energy Cup Series.

After practice on Friday, NASCAR confiscated the rear deck lid on the Richard Childress Racing number three car driven by Austin Dillon, citing a noncompliance with the NASCAR rule book.

NASCAR made no further moves during the weekend but on Tuesday (April 30) the ruling body issued penalties to the number three team.

Car owner Richard Childfress was docked 10 car owner points and driver Austin Dillon was docked 10 driver points. The loss in points drops Dillon from 13th to 14th in the points standings.

In addition, crew chief Danny Stockman was fined $25,000 and car chief Gregory Ebert has been suspended from the next race.

A spokesperson for Richard Childress Racing stated that the team will not appeal the ruling.

After post race inspection on Sunday, NASCAR found that the Penske Racing number 12 car driven by Ryan Blaney did not have all 20 lug nuts properly secured. As a result of the infraction, crew chief Jeremy Bullins has been fined $10,000.
