Tonight on “World of Dance” it’s the Divisional Finals. Only 12 acts remain and two thirds of them will be eliminated before the final four compete in the World Final.
Twitch joins the show as the guest mentor this week.
This season the judges have the option of using their wildcard and save an eliminated act.
Ne-Yo is mentoring the Upper Division. First up are Derion and Madison. After a trick filled routine, the duo scored 92 points.
Poppin John took the stage next with a routine that brought Derek to his feet saying that it was John’s best routine of the season. In what Jennifer called a great routine, Poppin John scored 95 points.
The final act in the division is Contemporary dancer Briar Nolet with a gymnastics filled routine and scored 95.3 points to win the Division and move on to the Final.
Next up it’s the Junior Team Division with Jennifer as their mentor.
Up first are the Crazy 8’s with what Jennifer called a beautiful routine. The girls earned a score of 93 points.
Up next is the Filipino crew Vpeepz with a fight themed routine that brought the guys to their feet and earned a score of 96 points.
Last up in the division is the all girl crew Dancetown Divas with what Derek called their best routine yet; earning a score of 95.7 points and giving the win to the Vpeepz.
Next up is the Junior Division with Derek as their mentor.
Up first is the Contemporary duo and sisters Ellie and Ava with a routine that brought the guys to their feet and had Jennifer saying that it was a perfect performance. The sister earned a score of 96 points.
Next up are Julian and Charlize with a routine Jennifer called nuts with top notch choreography. The couple scored 95.7 points.
Last up in the division is the only solo performer in the division, ballerina Kayla Mak with a routine Derek called stunning. Kayla’s dance earned a score of 95.3 points giving the win to the sister duo of Ellie and Ava.
In the final division, Twitch mentored the Upper Team Division dancers.
Korean team The Heima take the stage first with a routine that Derek said was world class. The guys earned a score of 93.3 points for their dance.
Next up are Unity LA with an emotional routine to the music of Kelly Clarkson that Derek called pure art. Jennifer called it their best piece yet. Saying that he has never had goosebumps, Ne-Yo said that today he got his first goosies; adding that the dance was perfect. With perfect scores from Derek and Ne-Yo, Unity LA scored 98.7 points.
Last up are the Indian crew The Kings. One of the guys was injured during rehearsals but despite the injury he was determined to perform on stage. The routine included some very risky tricks that had the judges on their feet in shock. Jennifer called the routine out of this world; adding that it was mind blowing. Ne-Yo called the guys unforgettable. With a near perfect score of 99.7 points The Kings are the Upper Team Division champions.
